My Pre-exit Checklist

Here is my list of things to do before I CTB. Thought I would share it for others who might not be feeling ready or forgetting something. It's not in any particular order, but some of these things will naturally come last.

1. Sell or give away all possessions
2. Leave hand-written and dated final suicide note on desk
3. Leave USB with all personal files on desk
4. Leave CD-ROM back up with all personal files on desk
5. Leave printed sheet with all account important details on desk with instruction to destroy them after use
6. Send hand-written and dated suicide letter for Ms B.
7. Assemble memory chest and leave for mom
8. Delete all forum accounts
9. Delete all porn
10. Delete all computer history and uninstall browsers
11. Wipe hard drive
12. Complete final hand-written and dated manifesto of beliefs, reasons and thoughts
13. Complete final projects document
14. Message A, C, D, D, K, M, and T (people I know / have known)
15. Transfer all money to moms account
16. Post goodbye thread on SS
17. Have exit uniform ready
18. Clean room
19. Destroy this list when everything is done

Seems like you have all your bases covered. I'm planning to ctb on August 13th and so far I've written one note - to my kids - with explicit instructions.

What's your exit uniform going to be like? I never thought of that myself but I guess it would help with letting the fact you chose to leave sink in. I might steal that idea myself later on. As the other poster said it looks like you covered everything else if that's what you desire.

I dont know who to give my money to. I've saved up 18k mainly because I don't do anything with my money, but there's nobody I can really give it to, my mum is a narcassist who has made my life hell and she would just waste it all, god knows where my dad is, both of my brothers are insufferable assholes and i don't really have any friends in real life or trust giving my money to any charities.

Anybody got any ideas?

Might be worth making your own thread for this, but it's possible you'll be met with begging from others. Are you positive your next attempt will work? It would suck to give away nearly twenty thousand dollars then fail the attempt. Regardless, surely there's some level of causes you can bring yourself to care slightly about? Perhaps look into those, even if it's very slight interest. An example would be concerning the homeless possibly. I'm not educated on good quality charities myself so it might require other input or digging on your own.

Yeah, i was gonna make a thread in the future when it was closer to my ctb date (im not killing myself until my dog dies, which could still be like a year or two away from now). I'm guessing I will probably have to write a will because I don't want to survive an attempt and then have no money (as you pointed out). I'll look into some charities further, but honestly im just really skeptical about the genuine impact of most charities, i would rather just give all my money to a single person, which probably sounds selfish, personally i just think it would have a greater impact.

I tend to easily feel overwhelmed so this really does help. Hope you get everything sorted by your planned date. Wish I had a set date.

That's going to be a tough thing to decide for. For what it's worth, I don't trust charities either. Sorry I can't be more help :(

The uniform will be a black long-sleeve shirt with a Heaven's Gate Away Team patch on one arm, and black pants. Basically everything black. I want to be thorough and make sure that life can resume as quick as possible for those left behind.

There's something called Transfer on Death instruction. Basically as it reads - its a form that allows you to declare what you want to happen to the financial account once you die. A lawyer, executor or guardian would have to present your death certificate then the financial institution will carry out the instruction.

This is an option in case you don't want transfer of money to tip off your loved ones before CTB.

What about your local dog shelter? It's clear that you love dogs. Obviously only do that when you are sure you will ctb
