Hey, I think this is a pretty interesting as well as unique "recovery plan"!
So what if it's a snake?! The fact you are there to help and it's making you feel better in the process means a lot. :)
Kindness to animals - It costs nothing really! This is what I found good about this, the fact that you showed so much care and empathy, even to an animal some people would consider dangerous. :smiling:
I truly hope all goes well from here for you! ^_^

I have wanted a Red tail Boa for a long time now. Sorry for late reply as my cat is ill and one of my Cornsnakes has escaped her enclosure so now I'm doubly worried and panicking.
You have a Marmoset? Wow!! You and your family have a lovely managerie of animal babies!
Could I see some pics of your animal babies... only if you want to though!
Thank you! Pris has been through a lot and I'm trying to make her feel loved and have some stability. I love her and I believe that she likes me. She loves her enclosure and being out and about. I love Ball Pythons and I'm sick of how some people neglect their Ball Pythons. I have an new found love and empathy for Snakes. I love Cats a lot too! Another animal that people treat badly. I love my Tarantulas and I adore Praying Mantids! They like Humans too!
I don't let people into my home either. I'm quite private.

:shy: Poor bird!! Was it ok?!
Yeah my bird was a tad frightened but he was fine. He flew down to the floor dog insta got him and I dashed for the dog. Luckily I got the bird before there were teeth marks. There is a post we have cats dogs now everything else or to that extent. I posted a couple pics of my monkey on there. If you can't find it I will reply here with some for you. Last year in my pool I kept finding praying mantis babies. I <3 praying mantis... I have arachnophobia I am terrified of spiders! I'm so sorry your cat isn't feeling well and your corn snake is on the loose. I hope your cat is feeling better soon and that snake comes out. My old ball houdini when I got him he was big.. he got out hence his name and was found under my fridge. Check there. Not sure where you are- but any heat source is a hiding spot. You may have a calling in rescuing those snakes who have been mistreated. Where I live people always post on craigslist taking in birds or reptiles that are unwanted. You could begin posting the same. Since you have a great relationship with your local pet store let them know you might be wanting to become a rescue for those who have been neglected or abused!
I will tell you the red tailed boa was young- and quite aggressive for being so young. I love them and all snakes. I would have a fear of having one large though after the experience I had with the young one and her aggressiveness.

Aww I'm glad your Bird was unharmed. Poor baby!! That's a relief!!
Yes I've checked under my fridge and round the back of it! No Snake in site! Which worried me! I've watched YouTube videos on how to find a missing Snake. I put out her enclosure earlier with a fuzzy inside, thinking that she would still be in the bedroom and go and find it and eat it. Go into her hide and go to sleep, but no luck. I'm getting so worried! I tire my bedroom apart earlier trying to find her. There is water in the cat bowls in the hall... she'll have that at least.
Praying mantis are awesome and I adore them!! Here's a pic of Queen Ikebana my Indian flower mantis! ABCA4C91 4A12 4B51 B383 121F427559FF
She died a couple of months ago. She was truly beautiful and really friendly.
I would like to get a Boa eventually.
Hopefully my cat will pull through. I've taken her to one private vet already and waiting for another vet office to call me Monday.

Thank you very much! Yes I've wanted a Snake for a while, but I thought I couldn't because I have a lot of animals already. Cats, Tarantulas, scorpions, mantids, millipedes. True Spiders, Hissing Cockroaches! All the bugs!! But then I saw some Cornsnakes at my local pet shop and got Nathair, my female Blood red Cornsnake. Then a month or so later .., got my Anery Sunkissed Cornsnake.. a female called IO. Then Pris cane to the pet shop and I noticed her and enquired after her, the guys who know me said that she's been relinquished to the pet shop by some people who owned her before. They had neglected her badly. So they guys at the pet shop nurses her back to health and put a sign on her enclosure saying that she wasn't for sale. They sold her to me because they know I keep Cornsnakes ( that I'd bought from them) and I'm a really good customer there and I'm mates with them. They know I have 12 years experience keeping Tarantulas and other bugs, do they knew they could trust me. She was technically going to live out the rest of her days there as they didn't want to sell her to just anyone. So I feel privileged to have her as my big noodle baby.

keep checking under fridge. I was the only teenager with my own apartment. There was acid going around and well the kids wanted to use it at my place. SO I let them use my apartment and I took off to a friends place 2 towns away. I was afraid of drugs. I had a ball python called Hetfield. (James Hetfield from Metallica) When I came back home the next day There was puzzle pieces and grape soda in Hetfields tank and he was gone! He didn't come out for about 4 months found him curled up on the heater. I hope your baby comes out soon

Pris is doing amazingly well! She ate a medium rat 4 days ago! At the pet shop who nursed her back to health ( her previous owners neglected and starved her. She could only eat small rats, because her stomach had shrunk so much that any bigger sized rat tgat was fed to her .., she would regurgitate it.
When she got to me, for the first 2 feedings I continued to feed her small rats. But four days ago she took a medium rat and didn't regurgitate it. So I'm happy at her improvement!

Wow that's quite a story! I'm glad Hetfield came back!
Im sure Nathair will turn up out of the blue soon!!
I've checked under the fridge and behind it about 4-5 times a week. She's never behind it in the warm spot there. I'll keep doing that though. Cos I wanna find my little Snake baby. :smiling:

When irresponsible people come in contact with animals, animals are the ones who end up suffering. Thank you for taking care of and giving a loving home. I am animal lover and an advocate. Animal therapy is real because sometimes you just need an unconditional loyal love and non judgmental ears to listen when you want to spill your heart out. Animals are receptive to our feelings in the most positive and purest form. I'm actually going to be working at an animal sanctuary rescue in a couple of weeks. I'm excited to start my journey of healing.

Thank you !
I had to take Pris the Python in. As soon as I saw her o thought. You are coming to live with me!
Royal/Ball Pythons are always treated horribly, so are cats, and I don't knowwhy people treat certain types of animals like they are garbage. I'll never understand it.
My Snake is my emotional support Snake andI'm her Pseudo mother! I need her and she needs me. So together we stay!
You will enjoy your time immensely at the animal sanctuary!! Animals are the best!!
Animals definitely heal!!!

Couldn't agreed more. It's really heartbreaking when I read stories to sign for petitions. No joke, I looked up how to sell my soul to the devil in exchange for the end of animal suffering. Like you said some animals are mistreated more so than others and it really is unfathomable. They are all living creatures as we are and all deserve to live happily and respected. Why should we be better? Why rank? Even amongst us humans we rank. They are all equal to me. Every creature has its good and bad. We have no right to kill animals for a price for nonsense like trophy hunting or invade their habitat and kill them when they're just looking for resources that we barbaricly taken from them. I understand animals eat other animals but they take what they need. We treat them inhumane and for vanity purposes. I'm sorry. I'm getting a bit worked up. I've thought about writing a book about all types of animal abuse. My first essay written was about cons of animal testing. I couldn't stop crying. Sorry I'm off tangent here.
I'm glad you found each other. I think snakes have very cute faces. I was watching a YouTube channel about snakes and the breeder had to put one to sleep because the spine was twisted. It was so sad because the snake was so gentle. It really saddens me that because of malicious owners who mistreat animals who then become dangerous give the breed as a whole a bad reputation. Pitbulls, one of highly misunderstood breeds are really great with children. It all depends om who raises them. You have to raise them with love and care. May I ask why bull pythons are mistreated? Is it because they're misunderstood? I'm scared of people so animals seem Godly to me.

Ball pythons are mistreated because they are common, cheap, and anybody can buy them. Some of the more expensive morphs are expensive, but when someone buys a cheap Classic Wild type... or a Normal patterned Ball .. they see them as expendable. Once the novelty of owning such a snake wears off , they start getting neglected... maybe even abused. It's disgusting that people could do that to such a sweet Snake. They are calm and placid and docile and very sweet natured. That's also why they are abused and neglected. My girl Pris... because of her past neglect, and starvation.... will now be treated like a Queen and then she will know that humans can be good.

My girl! In a nice enclosure!
On my lap, and being cuddled whilst climbing up my Calvin Klein hoodie!
Her enclosure is spotless and with a fake leaf pile as her warm hide spot. She loves her leaves, so I won't get her a hide box. She has a branch to climb on( which she does at night. Some cork bark tubing covered with lichen fir enrichment and a fake bonsai tree next to her water bowl, which is refilled with fresh mineral or spring water every other day. She eats one medium sized Rat each weekend. Xxx
She gets a bath every 10-12 days. 2 baths when she is about to shed her skin. Xxxx

She's absolutely gorgeous. I've always liked snakes. I hate stories of how people abuse or neglect their pets. There's a pet YouTuber called Taylor Nicole Dean and she hoards so many pets while dealing with a heroin addiction meaning that she isn't able to look after them probably. She's already had so many pets die from improper care. She moved back in with her mum and most of her pets are now crammed in small enclosures.

Thank you for explaining. It's unfortunate that we take things for granted. Your story made me think of an allegator kept in one of those plastic tote boxes which stunned her growth. She was neglected And it's just disgusting how humans could be so negligent. How some don't see animals as anything more than an inferior beings. I had an ex who had a snake bit it was weak because it was sick so he got another snake to eat that snake because "it's going to die anyways." I was shocked and saddened to say the least.
I'm curious you said the tree is fake is it because she could get scratched badly by tree barks? Like we get splinters but worse? Are the rats alive when you feed her? Fgdlts
She really has a beautiful pattern. Unfortunately greed and vanity make people want them for personal gain. It sickens me. It makes me wish there really were jeepers creepers. It's a monster in a horror movie where it goes after people and skin them. I mean we're animals too. It's so sad how it's double edged sword. We say "well they are animals" and then say "we're animals too."
I'm curious has any snake wrap itself around your neck? Does it feel warm? When I saw your picture I was like I wonder if it's warm like a scarf. But like fur I prefer live animals. They're beautiful because it's on a living being. If we're meant to have fur we would. It's pure vanity. Faux fur even then some are still real fur but the man made materials are good. Then again I think it's tacky. It's ironic because people shave their own hair but wear animal fur. A man I was once seeing had a fur the and I was so grossed out. There was another point but I think you get it lol

Oh I know Taylor.. I used to watch her all the time ! She was hoarding her animals and some of them died. I still like the girl but was not impressed with her treatment of her animals.
Yes my Snake wraps around my shoulders and even massage my shoulders.. it's so cute. It's as if she can sense some tendon me and is massaging it out of me. Or she's tryna get more warmth out of my neck.
Thank you for saying that my Snake is gorgeous! Xxxx

No worries. I'm doing everything on phone so I know there can be glitches. I keep looking at your Queen. Especially the one on your pink cardigan? She has very beautiful eyes, she would make a beautiful model. I'm getting a feeling through her picture that she's been through a lot and looking for safety and she finally found that with you. That look when someone/animal give when they're desperate for help and love. I wish i could give her a hug.

Yes she has been through a lot. Her previous owners starved her. Total neglect of such a sweet Snake. She knows now thatshes safe with me and she'll get food once a week, Social interaction, enrichment in her enclosure, regular cleaning out of her enclosure, fresh water, kisses , cuddles, warmth... and even tv to watch ( Ball Pythons watch tv) Lol!
Then if the weathers nice we can take her to the park. Xxx
I'm determined to give her a good life.
She gets a lot of hugs and kisses. If I put her on the rug in the living room she'll follow me around and curl around my feet.
Her eyes look happy now, like she can't believe she has found a good home. Xxx

Going back into her enclosure by her own volition... to get a drink of water. Clever Snake!

This enclosure is a simple and clean set up. One that I will add to as I go. My animals are always kept in pristine condition and so are their habitats. Miss Pris ( the Python) prefers a big bunch of leaves to a box hide... if she displays behaviour that says otherwise then I will provide a Hide. Until then, she will sleep under her fake leaf pile. She will get to go to to park over the road for some enrichment and fresh air. Weather permitting.

Lol!! She's my guard dog! Putt bull Python!!
You take your snake for a walk, um, slither, in the park? Do you use a leash? How does that work? I have a hard time wrapping my head around that, lol.
