My N got stopped by customs in Sweden :(

It says that they are going to contact the sender and ask for customs clearance information. Whatever that is? What do I do now? I started reading on this forum about customs clearance information after I got that error message from UPS when tracking the package. It seems more people have had this problem in the EU.

What happens now, then? Do i need a lawyer? I am getting SN soon, and was planning to take that, with some AE that I first need to se a doctor to prescribe, but I really wanted the more peaceful exit that N gives :(

Damn it I knew this would happen to me; the Swedish customs are very strict =/ I have no idea how to lie myself out of this situation either, so if I get a phone call I will just say I havn't ordered any package.

I don't know about if it's illegal to have N there or not, but I presume it's not since it's used in veterinary medicine and such. I don't know if your country is like the nanny states that I often hear about from other EU members, but most likely do they'll atleast do a check up on you and ask questions. I've read that you don't have to answer the door or even deny you bought the N, but I don't know 100% so don't take my word for it. But whatever you do whenever they do or if they do ask questions do not and I repeat DO NOT say or mention the word suicide or that you are or were suicidal.

Other than that hopefully someone else might know more information or even maybe you can ask the mods.

I don't know what will happen next. I don't think they can prove you paid for it, at least not easily, and it's not a big catch either, so I don't expect much in the sense of consequences for you. Would be very interested to know how it concludes though.

Mine was also sent as a gift and I had to pay €7,10 (+ 21% VAT) + €0,37 import costs thru UPS, I thought this was an EU wide kind of thing. Maybe it's just my country's postal service acting like the mafia then.

Most likely this is about the taxes. Being sent as a gift under the new EU rule for online commerce, doesn't satify customs in some countries so they need to know the value of the package to apply the VAT and all the other import taxes on it. It's one of the reasons holding me back from ordering.

First, try not to panic. Remember the first rule of dealing with people in uniform: let them tell you what they need from you and give them only that.

They say that they will try to contact the sender. That's not you. I do not know what type of label D uses on his bottles, but it doesn't reveal the contents. You should check in with him to see how the bottles are labeled. If they're skin serums, than that is what you're expecting to receive from your friend. If it's not what you expected (whatever is on the label) then you and your friend are victims of a scam.

It is very difficult to connect the types of payments D accepts with any shipment. If, for some reason, they ask you why you sent money to his country, say that you were helping him/her with funeral costs for a family member. If they ask if you are expecting anything, say no. Your friend must have sent the package as a thank you.

It's a long way between stuck in customs and locking you up in a psych facility, so don't pack a bag yet.

None of these people know your intentions or past actions and they're just doing their job.

One easy way out could be to say that you did order from the seller, but that it was something innocuous, such as baking ingredients or whatever they might have, in which case the seller could have mixed your order with somebody else's, and sent the wrong package to you. If someone then asks for your online receipt, you can say that you didn't receive any.

It's very rare that this happens but it has happened to another member here once before and everything worked out fine.

If they are trying to clear the package then just take the necessary steps and it will be cleared. This is not some ploy to make an arrest.
