Because it gives you something to think about, and distract yourself with. And that's a less painful than the alternative.

I live and rent room abroad. I came to see my mother to my home country. I want body be found in my homecountry
I am supposed to go back to foreign country in 2 weeks therefore I don't have too much time. I don't want people I rent room from abroad to be involved
