This time she said there was a girl that took SN but decided to call the ambulance because she didn't actually want to die (survival instinct i guess) and she was in the intensive care with extreme pain for hours and still died.

I'm not sure if its actually SN. They're talking about 'Substance X' in the media and my mom thinks its SN.

So what do you think? Could this possibly be SN? Or is SN 100% peaceful?

Eh.. I've read that SN causes nausea, vomiting, tachycardia, breathlessness and dizziness, but never come across it causing "extreme pain". Maybe the pain was due to the hospital treatment?

I did ask her the source. All it says is 'substance X'. I did a quick Google to find out if SN is substance X and it said no. So I guess its not, just wanted to see what you guys had to say about it.

That seems likely.

I see, then I think we can refute what your relative is saying.

Take care

I think the newspaper is calling it "substance x" as it doesn't want to disclose /advertise suicide methods.
Its possibly a responsibility / legal thing...

In most cases SN won't cause significant physical pain (exceptions exist, like those with ulcers and so on). The pain is most likely from having frantic doctors and nurses doing everything but administer methylene blue. Heard one man got a tube shoved up his urethra so that doctors could access the kidneys, for an example.

Your mom knows about sn? How?
Does she know you are suicidal?
Sn is peaceful when not interrupted. Otherwise we get in the way of things.

no substance X is a term used by an dutch organisation that called it substance X. It's not SN it's Sodium Azide (NaN3)

People who want to end their lives with sodium azide also use Domperidom and paracetamol in addition to this Last Will Remedy.

Effect Sodium azide: Sodium azide prevents the oxygen uptake by the red blood cells, causing the brain cells and muscle cells to die. Reports show it causes a soft death, similar to carbon monoxide poisoning

There's a discussion going on for some time in the dutch media about this so called 'suicide powder'/Substance X

I've read the same thing. It's uncomfortable at first but you fall asleep peacefully and pain free

damn , I will never speak with my mom about this. She is already really scared about me. I feel like I am constantly monitored by her. I told her I am fed up but not that I am suicidal.

How did she take it?

No antidote for Azide either, so the hospital couldn't have helped anyway.

Is it true? I need to research it. I never heard of people using it since it's volatile nature, but sn sounds much safer option. I do not know how azide would react with gastric acid
