Today is my birthday. My final one. I feel such peace with my decision. No depression, no anxiety. Just peace and excitement for what will soon come. As a nihilist, I feel life has next to no meaning. I also believe in reincarnation, that we take what we've learned in past lives to be our best selves in future lives, until we reach such a state of grace that we no longer come back.

Happy birthday! I had the same feeling two when I had my last birthday in spring. Also as a nihilist, I don't believe that life is about learning. It's not about anything, really. I'd maybe buy into reincarnation in the sense of open individualism but I think that's about as much of a stretch as I can make without tumbling over. Then again, I'll grant that it seems strange how we are given life and then it's taken away forever. If I lived once, why not again? Why am I me? Does it go top-down or down-up when it comes to consciousness and the brain? Is the answer really simple that we can't see it when it is right in front of our face or is there really more to it? It seems extremely improbable that we exist at all as individuals.
