I don't want the horrific pain, though. I don't suppose there's an opiate strong enough that would make burning alive painless.

Maybe take N while holding an open flame and then pass out and the flame falls on me and ignites me?

Couldn't you just request cremation? Seems kind of silly to want to die in one of the most painful ways imaginable for the sake of a metaphor.

I think some of us have our symbolic method choices, but they're impractical. This is severely impractical and excruciating. I'm one to say if you have N don't ruin a perfect suicide.

I remember obsessing over this image of physically ripping my insides out in front of a group of people. I believe this was me trying to express at the time, to myself, that I needed to share what was festering "inside" me (aka my mind, conscience) to the people around me. I wanted them to know how much pain I was in.
I suspect that if you are preoccupied with this very flamboyant ( pun intended) method, that you too want to communicate your pain to other people. Am I off?

This reminds me of the movie Midsommar. Where they gave a bunch of drugs to the main guy, put him in the bear fur, and burned him alive. (Sorry for the spoiler 😬)

Yew plant was part of it, but don't know what else.

Self immolation sounds like the worst ctb method to me. But anyway, if you do have N then you are so incredibly fortunate.

I think method of choice tells a lot about person and reason of death. Recently in my city there were 2 suicides where people jumped from high floor inside shopping mall. I imagine they were really pissed off consumerism. Hanging I associate with resignation. Poisons are for people who doesn't like violence. Drowning I associate with diving into unconscious. Self immolation is usually used as a protest against something.

Setting myself on fire would be one of the worst ways to leave this world. The pain would be immense. There's no way I could physically make myself do that. But we're all different. Methods for one person may not work for the next.

Most people survive self-immolation. Some die at the hospital within a few days or weeks, some have to live with the burns.

Self-drowning should be considered instead.

Don't think I'd be able to do something like this, but I've requested to be cremated at least.

Everyone, of course, feels pain differently. But I think it will be a very strong pain for any person. I even get burned with hot water. It's scary to imagine what will happen in the flames.
I wish you to find peace, but please don't do it this way, I don't want you to suffer.

Mine is also. Just want an environment where I can't be disturbed, so that the fire can burn for some longer time. It would be a death sentence, allowing me to ease the guilt I feel. Yeah, it's just brainfuck, but I can't go on like not feeling it.

I've only ever heard of Buddhist practitioners using this method, usually in protest. I've thought about it but it seems very impractical

I've watched a video today of ISIS burning Turkish soldiers definitely not the method I would pick.

No, there is no such painkiller that would make burning alive less painful, but I do believe in the power of the mind and meditation. It is the reason the Buddhist monk was able to sit in his position and I don't know maybe accept the pain and know it is temporary. I miss meditation. That was when my mind was the strongest in regard to being able to handle abuse.
