I suppose my attachment to this song isn't really about the song itself, It just kinda brings back memories of a period a few years ago when (at least in my mind) things started to look better for me for just a short while. I failed out of a college course after barely scraping through highschool and out of desperation sought out psychiatric help for my inability to focus and had just started taking medication for it. I guess it resonates with me now because even though things quickly got worse after that, and in reality that optimism was built on sand, for a very short while things were looking optimistic and i miss that feeling.

I've kinda never bothered looking up an english translation of the lyrics because I found it during my AJATT phase, so i refused to ever look up English translations of stuff. If i couldn't understand it with my current Japanese ability then I just had to accept it. But from what I do understand it is about having to let go of someone that made you happy, and i guess looking back at that period in my life in an abstract sense it fits. It does also just genuinely have a nostalgic bittersweet tone to it. I suppose alot of Japanese songs I listened to from that time elicit similar feelings because I was excited to continue learning Japanese now that I was getting help.
