Everyone, I strongly suggest listening to music that's both calm and uplifting/meditative.

Although this is coming from a "straight edge" girl (no drinking or smoking or drugs or promiscuity or gambling etc.) it sounds to me like the transition state is something like a very, very powerful drug trip, possibly DMT. Set and setting are so very important before a psychedelic excursion. You don't want anything upsetting or overstimulating.

Try and find music that makes you think of either permanent, peaceful rest, or "dissolving the self into The Absolute/Source/God." As corny as this sounds, the track called "Life - Faraway Promise" from, of all things, a weird little game called Chrono Cross, is excellent for this. In context, the song plays when you complete an obscure sequence of events properly and "defeat" the end boss to rescue the being which fused with it tens of thousands of years ago in her despair and sadness, allowing her to rejoin the timestream. Think of yourself as the girl being rescued, and freed to dissolve back into Source...

Something terribly cliche like this would do it for me.

Just seems like a good song to disappear to, I could go with this. Maybe it's the emotional relief.
