Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

I have intense sentimentality for the past. Even the most mundane memories. I have nostalgia for locations I was at just months ago. I become enchanted by mundane locations. The sidewalk I walk. The body of water I used to walk along. The ceiling of my room. The ceilings of rooms I previously slept in. The Moon and Sun, which were in the sky the day that I was born and will be in the sky the day that I die. The convenience store I go to occasionally. The natural spot I used to go to in my hometown. The part of my hometown I used to walk around in, particularly in the summer of 2022. The path I used to walk in the city I previously lived in; particularly when it was freezing outside. The area I used to work in. My elementary school. A particular brick wall at my elementary school. An oak tree at my elementary school that had to be cut down. Etc.

What gets me even more sentimental and nostalgic is thinking about all the people that could've visited that location before me, all experiencing their own stories.

I get like this over places too. Funny how our brains seem to pick certain locations out.

I can find the experience upsetting though. I've considered revisiting a park my Nana used to take me in the Summer holidays. Both her and my Mum used to love it there. There are photographs of them standing at a particularly pretty spot. They're both dead though. It's always felt sad to go and stand in that spot, as beautiful as it is.

I enjoy watching Urbex on YouTube too. Wondering what a now abandoned place used to look like when it was bustling with people.
