  • Hello Guest,

Another update, OFCOM has reached out directly. We have made the decision to make all content unavailable in the UK for the time being. People from the UK will still be allowed to register, but content that violates the Online Safety Bill will not be viewable to the public. This officially puts us in compliance with the Onlien Safety Bill.

We would highly recommend that all users from the UK get some sort of VPN, and you should petition your lawmakers to let them know how you feel about this piece of draconian legislation.

Long time since I've made one of these threads, huh?
Let's get together and discuss movies!
Sadly enough I won't be contributing much since I rarely watch movies.

Bonus challenge: Favourite movie?

Well, my avatar makes it kind of obvious but my favorite movie of all time is The Muppets, the one that was made in 2011. As a kid I actually didn’t like the Muppets or the Muppet show. I thought they were too weird and scary compared to Sesame Street which I really did love. Watching this movie changed my mind on all that. It showed me a whole world that I had missed and the story will go out of its way to make anyone who ever knew about them but forgot about them for a few years feel like such an asshole for letting them become a distant memory. I rarely cry at movies without dogs as the main focus of the story but this movie made me cry during the new Rainbow Connection scene when they all come out to sing it and I had never even seen the original movie!

I also related super hard to the new muppet they introduced, Walter. He was someone who was so passionate about something he was a fan of but got bullied for it because people saw it as childish which is just like I used to be about Pokémon. (Many other people born in 1994 only prefer the first generation while I was still into Gen 5). In the end he even finds his place among the very franchise he always admired which is something I wish I could have done.

There Will Be Blood is a perfect film imo. As for relatable films, I really like Christine (2016) about a news anchor struggling with loneliness and depression who ends up killing herself live on air. It’s based on a true story. I found Joker really relatable too.
