• Hey Guest,

We wanted to share a quick update with the community.

Our public expense ledger is now live, allowing anyone to see how donations are used to support the ongoing operation of the site.

Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

They can find billions of dollars for war and contribute practically zero for mental health facilities, shortages of beds . Psychiatrists are a joke as are doctors.

This is so frustrating to me. This mom wants more care and information for parents of adult children. But they are adults. While he'll always be YOUR child, he was not A child.

If he needs a conservator, then get him one. But I doubt he'd qualify.

What was the solution for this young man? He was not ill enough to be held indefinitely, the bed is not endlessly available even if he was and he seemed unwilling to control his alcohol use.

Make it harder for him to get drugs? Aren't governments the world over being excoriated for trying to crack down on drugs? Having their feet held to the fire for jailing drug users and their low-level dealers?

I truly do feel for this woman and accept that things could have been handled better. But the solutions she seeks are not practical on any level. At some point the suicidal must be accountable for the choices they have made, for the damage done. Some of us mentally ill folk make some fine decisions, sometimes not.

In a caring society we would have freedom of choice to exit pain free and with dignity.
Government restricts this to terminal illness and even then you have to jump through hoops to qualify.
How many on this forum would jump at the chance to be free from pain in a dignified location where you fall asleep and exit this prison .
Solution is simple , let us make our own decisions it would be easier for everyone in the end but no , we have to be controlled by the system.
