• Hey Guest,

As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. The UK and OFCOM has singled out this community and have been focusing its censorship efforts here. It takes a good amount of resources to maintain the infrastructure for our community and to resist this censorship. We would appreciate any and all donations.

It's instinctive for the mother to go to rescue him without thinking of how he could be left braindead if she does. She wouldn't have had time to even think about it. That being said its truly devastating to that 18yo and his mother BUT now that he is braindead for fuck sake let him have his choice!!! Doctors should have him euthanized and now be in peace. Do they think if he didn't want to live before that he wants to now in a vegetable state?? ffs it's angering and sad.

Hospital can profit from person with vegetable state. They will never mention that to the mother.

I'm gonna probably get really nasty here. But what a heartless selfish fucking bitch. How much of an entitled selfish asshole do you have to be to keep someone alive who will have 0 quality in life? I honestly feel like the parents who do this don't actually care about their sons/daughters needs, they just want to win mother/father of the year award because they're oh so brave for taking on the responsibly of someone who's disabled for life.
Think of the person who's now trapped inside their own mind, who clearly was already suffering enough having an able bodied life that they chose to end it rather than your damn self.

Kid is brain-dead, you can see the vacant stare in his eyes. As for the mother, she's gonna capitalize on her grief and use the money to keep him alive, and whatever is leftover she'll use on herself. She'll reap more after he dies and goes on to join a suicide bereavement group and go on speaking tours about the dangers of suicide and how she survived. She'll play as the victim, singing platitudes to future depressed people and the whole shit show circus keeps on going. *sighs*

I cant decide if she is ignorance, willful, love or madness. The hospital fees, the unnecessary burden and suffering for herself and the son. It's like keeping a corpse beside you, will that really made her happy? Holding onto an obvious lie.

Yes please let him go. Now we can see how good selfish pro lifers are to suicidal people. Death is always the better option than being "saved" and live as a vegetable.

I agree and if I was a vegetable, unable to die regardless of what I did, then all I have left is contempt and scorn for the people who are keeping me alive and forcing me to endure a living hell until I naturally die. In such a situation, I see little incentive into being nice to them let alone cooperating.

Sometimes I'd think that the people who say they 'regret' attempting suicide are the ones who are shamed and guilted (in other words, coerced) into saying the pro-life rhetoric.

I'm gonna probably get really nasty here. But what a heartless selfish fucking bitch. How much of an entitled selfish asshole do you have to be to keep someone alive who will have 0 quality in life? Think of the person who's now trapped inside their own mind, who clearly was already suffering enough having an able bodied life that they chose to end it rather than your damn self.

Apparently, a lot of pro-lifers are like that. I have encountered a few people IRL that would do that if they knew someone was brain dead, a vegetable, and those few people IRL are devoutly religious. It truly makes me sick. As for religious people, I think they want to win brownie points with their god when they reach heaven, regardless of the interests of the person's interests and values.

I cant decide if she is ignorance, willful, love or madness. The hospital fees, the unnecessary burden and suffering for herself and the son. It's like keeping a corpse beside you, will that really made her happy? Holding onto an obvious lie.

Yes, she is holding on to a lie, much like many people out there in the world. What's even sadder is that they wouldn't even question their views or lies being perpetuated around in society. Makes me disgusted and if I was the son/daughter, I'd be resenting my parents and giving them a hard time until my demise. I just don't see any win situation here and in that case, I would have had nothing to lose (since no matter what I do, I'm still being forced to live and actively seeking death isn't an option as a vegetable).

I wish there was a zombie epidemic. So all those mothers and god-willing pro-lifers try to prolong their zombified loved ones life only to get eaten in the process.

Case example: "My poor son was bitten by a zombie, he turned into one so I lock him down in the basement feeding him body parts from people I've killed because God sent them to me to help save my son. I know he's in there behind those lovely eyes, and I believe God has a plan for us. He always works in mysterious ways and both my son and I have repented countless of times waiting to be saved. God bless us all in these trying times. We must not lose hope...we must not lose fai---AHHH TIMMY I LOVE YOUG ARHGAHSHGHARGHH".

One of the arguments against suicide is that it's "unnatural" or "you're playing god." But reviving people who otherwise would have died and keeping them alive especially those who'll have zero quaity of life like this poor kid is the epitome of both those rebuttals. I'm so sick of the blatant hypocrisy of this pro life biased society. Suicide is self-defence, too bad I suck at it=(

This heart breaking. This is my greatest fear too. Even though he is lacking motor skills his body is still 'working' in a medical sense so he's not dead. He cant communitate therfore he is 'lacking capacity' thats why they can do whatever they want to him. If he cant show he can take on information, process and answer all decisions will be made for him under the viel of whats 'best' for him.

Ive completed capacity forms with patients ive been sent to, the questions are so basic. There are laws of capacity we had to learn, these are meant to safeguard the patient, in some cases like this they wont. He may be able to hear, understand but just not respond like locked in syndrome. Screaming inside his own body knowing there is nothing he can do. Thats why when people CTB if it 100% what you want, do everything you can to not be found in time, research the method inside and out, dont put yourself in a situation where you do it wrong because your too drunk for instance.

12 years ago, my mother suffered a severe stroke that wiped out her frontal lobe. The heart and lungs kept going, but the person was gone. After 4 days of thinking it through and conferring with doctors, I pulled the plug. A tough decision, but the right one. When the smile, the laughter, and recognition of anything is gone, so is the person. It was the right thing to do.

You did the right thing because you loved her, even though it was hard to let go. You cared about her welfare more than your own grief; that's what love is.

Just try to be less angry at the poor woman. Every sane mother would save her child no matter what. Give her a break. Mother's love knows no logic, it knows only the love of her child and mothers would do whatever it takes to keep their children alive. Maybe she is hoping that one day a miracle would take place and he would get better. We don't know what her reasons are but surely we can try to understand her situation

I understand her wanting to save him but the poor guy is barely living, he's just existing. There's practically no chance of him having a normal life. A miracle would be great but there's such a slim chance of it happening it's cruel to keep him alive waiting for something that will probably never happen

I do understand, and I empathize with that awful situation... but as a mother, I hope I would love my son enough to do the right thing.

She's not ready to let go. She's needs to go through the process and realization he will not improve. The timetable that everyone does this is greatly varied.

Its difficult, i can see where the mother is coming from too but he tried to take his own life. Wonder if she knows fully why. If she knew he was truely suffering, had approached the suicide in a fully rational way would she have made the same decision. Of course if she is one of these people against suicide regardless of anything i dare say she wont be able to see past herself and her reason for saving him. So she hopes for a miricle but in alot of cases like this the person goes on to contract something their body cant fight off and they die not on their own terms. She is prolonging his suffering but noone is sure if he regrets it, there are peolple who do. Only the son knows and thats the problem he now has no say. I hope that noone would save me in this situation and just let me go, just goes to show that sometimes hiding whats really going on before you CTB can make it worse. Eventhough i knew id be sectioned i was as honest as i could be about my intentions and why plus not wanting to live as a vegitable if that happened

Trust me, I've seen people like this mom. She will never let go; she will see imaginary signs of improvement she'll use as justification. Unfortunately, she is waiting for a miracle that will never come.

Again, I sympathize and I will not condemn her, but I wish she could see the writing on the wall.
