My research shows they are VERY toxic. But if you call for help or are found, they can typically reverse the damage. If you let them do their thing, you should be successful.
There are cases where death had occurred within 4–6 hrs, however most fatalities occur around 24 hrs after ingestion. Time till death varies with dose, material ingested (eg. seeds, leaves, bark. Note also that oleander tea acts faster), species (yellow oleander is actually a different genus, Thevetia), and apparently also on the victim's microbiome.
