If I had something to defend, I would volunteer for the front lines, immediately. I'm probably crazy enough to take out a whole army by myself because I just don't give a damn. I've probably seen too many movies but I would be the guy charging and screaming into a hailstorm of bullets and bombs and make the enemy turn around and run. More likely, I'd be the first one shot in the head, which would be fine. Today is supposed to be a day for Americans to remember other Americans who died in war. All political cynicism aside, I respect them. They are dead, I wish I was. I would instantly trade places with them if I could. To any vets here, I say thank you, and I'm sorry.
