Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

Sorry, I don't know too much about it. Just that it is prohibitively expensive for me and that I don't want to gather all the paperwork. But keep us updated if you learn more.

Being in Canada myself, that's not entirely true. The new rules that are to take effect in March 2023 will now include people where natural death isn't reasonably forseeable, instead of just terminal illness with a finite life expectancy. You won't be able to just say to a doctor I want assisted suicide. In fact, the mental illness provision is being reviewed to ensure "adequate" safeguards are in place as they are hesitant to allow mental illness to be the sole reason for assisted suicide. We're supposed to learn more about that in March 2022.

I looked at them today. Even if I maxed everything out it, turns out the law there requires someone be with me to identify the body afterwards. They say if you can't bring someone to go to another site for help finding someone, but that site only allows you to sign-up if your >50 and terminally ill.
Do you have any physical illnesses? I think they could help you to find someone regardles of your age. And I think theres a possibility to get on that site where to find someone even if younger but I think chronic physical illness is required.I looked at them today. Technically yes, but it isn't one that they'd say has a finite end date. Will it eventually kill me, yes, but it could be anytime between now and 5-10 years.
You dont have to have terminal illness to get accepted for vad. Its not easy to get it though. Im going to apply. If you like we can pm too. Im trying to find out if switzerland is only country to accept foreigners to get vad. I think so..
