There is the concept of the ends justifying the means - some goal so great that it justifies whatever atrocities one might need to commit to achieve it.
But what about the opposite? Principles that you wouldn't break, means that you would hold on to, even if it lead to some disastrous end?
What would you refuse to do even if doing so would result in the worst case scenario you can think of?
