I live in Canada and have visits with my psych every other week at the hospital he works at. I mentioned MAID and he had no idea what I was even talking about.

I am thinking of printing the papers off and filling them out. I Found the forms on dying with dignity website but I suspect I will be denied because I only have ptsd (mental illness) and no physical illness.

I bought a vial of insulin online, thinking of injecting a ton of that if they deny my MAID request.

I also just wish for the option to painlessly die in peace, it'd bring me so much relief to be able to permanently escape from all future unnecessary suffering with no risks of trying to die going wrong and lead to way worse agony. It's just so horrific to me how there is no limit as to how much one can suffer in this existence that was so tragically imposed in the first place, all I personally wish and hope for is to never suffer ever again, I see so much cruelty in how painless death is denied with suffering seen as to force and prolong until death takes away all anyway.

It's kind of sick that we live in a society where we let other people decide whether we want to die or live. I believe it's political that they want people to live miserably because they need us for taxes, manpower, and all that shit. I wish there is any form of MAID that I can avail that does not have as strict requirements. I am willing to save up for it if needed…

Death is the only thing that seems to be worthy and consistent to be spent money on. Comfortable people will never understand how it's like.

I wish that I could have access to MAID too but unfortunately pro lifers will never make that happen due to their deluded notions about death hence I have to put matters into my own hands

I'm frustrated that I live in a state with MAID, but it's only for people with terminal illness expected to die within 6 months. đŸ˜¥

I'm extra frustrated that Canada is right next door and they're expanding MAID to people with mental illness in 2 years, but it's only available to citizens and permanent residents. I would love to get permanent residence and move to Canada for a number of reasons, but I can't qualify because I'm not working due to my mental health issues.

I read an article (below) that questioned if MAID really is painless. They said you may have awareness after your body is paralysed and your heart is stopped but be unable to scream. Probably scare tactics but what if it's true..
I think MAID for mental illness in Canada may be a long time coming. There will be an election this year and it looks like a conservative party will win and they are firmly against the idea. However a hope is a positive ruling from the Supreme Court. There are court challenges in the works.

Here is the article: https://nationalpost.com/news/canada/medical-assistance-in-dying-how-do-people-die-from-maid

How I wish the MAID drugs were more readily available! I would feel so much better if I had them locked in a cabinet and ready for me if and when I needed them. CTB is such a personal decision, I shouldn't have to justify it to anyone. I also wish more people understood and that there wasn't such a stigma around this. It would be so wonderful to go without any more suffering and with someone to comfort me.
