Hi All,

I recently watched this doco, Had a few questions mainly surrounding Gus's death (Hoping a few of you have seen it)

From me putting 2 and 2 together, Gus was provided with SN from the state (2x Green bottles, 1 contained AE, 1x Tranquizer) and A Powdered Substance that he was advised to mix with juice.

My first and only previous suicide attempt via opiate OD was unsuccessful, The only reason I didn't use SN as it previously wasn't available to me, I have since managed to order 50g from IC and plan to CTB in mid March.

Is my opiate use going to effect the SN?

Why did Gus's Death take ~7hours.

Any input is much appreciated

It's been a while since I saw that episode, but I remember the guy you're talking about. I very much doubt it was SN that he took, the state would not provide SN, but most likely powdered N or some other barbiturate.

The timing of Gus's death could have been due to his body slowly shutting down. He would have been unconscious and comatose fairly quickly and likely unaware of what his body was doing.

Most things I've read regarding SN times, say about ~30min-45mins for unconscious, and "Out of it for upto four hours" For those 4 hours will I likely be as "Vocal" as Gus's passing, or is this down to say the individual?

I think it's down to the individual. Regarding being vocal I have observed the "death rattle" in cancer patients, probably due to the level of physical sickness, age etc. A younger healthy person would be more likely to just fall asleep, but I'm no expert by any means. Some people here would know better as there are some reports of what they witnessed. Sorry I can't be any more specific. Gus's passing was nothing out of the ordinary, as there have been cases where N has taken much longer for the body to expire, even though unconsciousness and coma can happen very quickly.
