Hi guys,

Reading the LostAllHope website statistics about the Lethal Methods they dont even mention N and SN but in the other hand, cianyte is one of the top3 deadliest ways. Why they dont even consider N and SN? They dont think is that effective? And why nobody here talks about cianyte? Thanks for all informations, very new to this!

Cyanide gets very little attention here as it's painful & very hard to obtain. Nembutal is hard to obtain, though we at least have one source for it so it's still easier to obtain than cyanide.

LostAllHope has a category for prescription drugs though they don't break out specific meds like Nembutal that are exceptionally toxic. Amitriptyline would be another very toxic drug discussed here that also isn't singled out by LostAllHope. Drugs overall are piss poor choices if you actually want to get dead, though they vary greatly from things like Xanax that has virtually 0% chance of producing death to Nembutal or amitriptyline that have a very high probability of producing death. Also, LostAllHope doesn't consider the difference between using anti-nausea meds with the deadly drug vs the high risk of vomiting that comes with the typical drug OD. Use the right drug & prevent vomiting and you have a vastly higher chance of death.

Edit: right amount of that drug too. The folks here are very particular about using plenty to produce the highest probability of success. This is as opposed to "amateur" efforts which may not use nearly enough to reliably get the job done.

Nembutal and Sodium Nitrite will be somewhere in "Overdose prescription drugs" and maybe "Household toxins" (yeah not really, but what else fits?).

I can't tell you why, maybe they're not common enough outside the suicide connoisseurs community to justify singling them out?

Barely anyone here considers cyanide because it's a very painful death and probably not easy to get on top. But it's a common cliché (cyanide pills and all) even in normieland so maybe that's why it was given its own entry over there.

I think it is lack of information on their part more than anything else, especially since SN only surfaced a short time ago as a "common" suicide method.

The last time I visited LAH was when I was set to CTB in 2012. It looked as though the site was a few years old back then.

I noted that one of the methods I was considering (H2S) wasn't mentioned, possibly as it was a relatively new method at the time. Geographical prevalence may also play a role e.g. H2S is widely used in Japan, but relatively unknown elsewhere.

Bear in mind that stats can sometimes be a few years old before they are widely published, hence the lack of data on SN, H2S etc. Maybe LAH hasn't been in a position to obtain more recent data?

Don't enter a username or password.

There are several reasons why that happens from hackers to site mainenance.

Try back in a day or so.

That's interesting - I've had the same difficulties getting on to LAH recently.

Same here. Such a shame as they had some good information.

They're apparently migrating their site. LAH ties back to earlier, pre-internet stages of the pro-choice movement, and they've always been a lot less active online than Exit or SS. As far as I know, they've never tried to break out detailed stats on OD deaths, which is one reason it can be so hard to make an OD work. They're happy to tell you the right number of floors for jumping but not the right kind of drug for dying.
