Realistically, very low because that amount of alcohol is more than enough to make you puke.

They say that there is a high chance of a fatal overdose if you do that, but they define "high" as an unacceptable level of risk for people who are trying to alleviate the symptoms of their condition, not as "likely to be a reliable suicide method." The threshold for an unacceptable level of risk to patients is not very high at all, in general. That's because healthcare providers, big pharma, etc. need to cover their asses.

The media and medical industry like to exaggerate (the latter probably due to fear of liability and lawsuits) not because they care about lives so much.

Unfortunately, such exaggerated warnings lead to ignorant/impulsive/young suicidal people trying it out and ending with serious damage (but what do the medical companies care, as long as they don't have to pay for life-long disability, right?). Again, quantity of life is more important than quality of life in our society.
