I just got back from intense trauma therapy. And the wisest technique I learned was "diving into the pain". On a somatic level, you can pinpoint your trauma in your body, and focus on all of it voluntarily. It's essentially exposure therapy. I know chronic pain, it brings with it nolasting relief. But treating yourself with compassion when confronting your pain will cause you less grief to shame yourself about in a later spiral.

That sounds interesting. I think its not easy to Dive into the pain, but If you have a good psychologist that can be a really good Thing to get better! I should do that too... But I am not sure were exactly is the pain and I feel anxiety to dive through that. You can be very proud of yourself!

How long was the session?

It is good advice. Most people try and evade pain by distracting themselves, and the emotional repression only leads to long-term dysfunctional patterns. Being willing to be uncomfortable is important with emotion work. I hope you are able to experience real progress.
