Hey everyone, just wondering if there's a list available somewhere containing names of users that have CTB'd here.
Obviously each death could only be confirmed if the User stopped posting and someone posted that they had died by suicide as well.

Does such a thing exist? Should it?

I can't even imagine why you would feel it necessary to know names of users who have CTB'D !!
I hope a list doesn't exist, and no, it shouldn't exist!
Have some respect ffs !

Even when their accounts are disabled after giving hints, you never really know, it's not like some acquaintance of theirs comes up and says "Hey! dude23 died!".

Even if there was a list available on this site, many would avoid making goodbye threads, they'd just express their last messages by DM, because they don't come here to beg for attention. They sought rest and obtained it, respecting their memory implies not exposing it as if it were some kind of attraction.

I do not understand why you would be asking this in the first place. It is disrespectful. Why do you even need to know the names of users who ctb. If you are looking for information about ctb for research purposes, there is resource sections. Rest in peace to them all. I hope they found what they are looking for.

You could type in search bar for "goodbye" threads and see who's names are crossed out, there's a somewhat list of SN attempts somewhere, but no I don't think having complete list is a good idea besides the fact it's disrespectful it'd further demonize this site to the public.

You couldn't have a list here because it would be tough to know if ppl actually had departed this world. As for such a list being disrespectful—I'm not sure why that is. We have lists for folks that passed in war/plane crashes, etc, and no one ever thinks that's disrespectful. Time to work at destigmatization, methinks…

It's a little bit different when someone dies from an accident than committing suicide. It's talking about someone's mom/dad/sister/brother/son/daughter/etc that reached a place where they took their own life. It's not necessarily a stigma (granted it does carry a stigma in society), but if I weren't here any longer due to my own decision I wouldn't really want a bunch of strangers on the internet talking about me or honestly anyone besides people that knew me.

It doesn't exist, but I think it would be cool if it did. I can see that many here think it would be a bad idea and I can understand the reasons given. Personally though I think that it could be nice, as long as no personal details like real name, location or whatever are given. Just username, method, and date of ctb (if known), perhaps. I think if anything it could be a nice memorial of sorts.

They probably want it to learn more or to motivate themselves to follow through with it.

With how much we've popped up in the news, I think that's a bad idea even without personal information because the more data on this the more likely we'll be shut down. I think if someone would like to know then they can just use the search bar for goodbye threads and make their own list. Some people didn't want a funeral. I get a little online memorial is quite different, but still you don't know if that person is okay with that plus as someone said we never really know if they were successful we only know if they posted a goodbye thread.

I don't think it's possible to verify most of these suicides. While the idea of a memorial might seem appealing to some, they would probably be sharing it with people that are still alive, but left the forums instead.

Unless whoever leaves this world decides to announce their departure before hand, it should not be 'listed'. Many depart without others being informed for a reason, to list them on a site where strangers can see just seems odd to me? Please respect their personal decisions.
