Many here, including me, want to ctb because we don't have enough money, or don't have a financial future.

It's sad and twisted and evil that life is all about money.
If you don't earn enough money, you don't even have what to eat or where to live.

The only thing that doesn't cost money in this life is air to breath.
Eveeything else costs money.

i was thinking about that yesterday, the problem is that is hard to find something in between.
you can grow your own food for example, but you still need money to have a place to live, at least if you don't mind being cut out from everything, in that case you can try to build a shelter somewhere in the woods.
i mean, i'm ok with living in a hole and growing my own food but i'd like to still have internet, which is not too expensive itself, but you need electricity for that, which means you need something similar to an actual house.
i guess i'll have to work until i manage to kill myself.

Yea I feel the same. Im financially stable. I have my own house and My bf luckily makes enough to keep up with everything since I lost my job but I think money was a big reason im in the spot im in. the whole time I was working to build 'the american dream' (which is a load of crap btw) I was faced with constant anxiety of something bad happening. like for ex:, a tornado destroying my home. Or my car breaking down. it got so bad to the point I was ready to give everything up and ''live off the land'' as they say, to avoid the fear, thinking (maybe if I give everything up I wont have anything to loose). Quickly came to the realization being a castaway was not going to work...I felt stuck and just crumbled apart. Depression followed soon after that and well 3 years later... im here. what an amazing world we live in.

Yet you see some people burn their money for the lulz, shock effect, or attention. Maybe all three.
All the while people elsewhere are starving to death, depressed, ill, considering ctb, etc.
Sure, it's their life, they can do what they want. Still.

You forgot stuff like paying 5 million dollars for a car that sits in their garage and accumalates dust.
While others like us don't have enough money to
live.
Life is cruel.

It's Capitalism.
It's inherently cruel.
Because it's based on the rules of the jungle - survival of the fittest.
The tiger that is strong gets to eat while the tiger that is weak starves to death.

If they want survival of the fittest, let's see how all the rich folks fare when a zombie apocalypse/alien invasion happens.
See how much of that cash can stop you from getting your brain sucked out and body mutilated.

You remind me a fantasy I have and sometimes think about.
It's that the dollar collapses and the billions that the rich people have are not worth ANYTHING.
I wish those bastards will starve on thier 100,000$ watches and 5 million $ sports cars.

Personally, I hate money.. Paying bills and debt is fine of course, but I would love to have enough money to get fuel, take more rides in "my" car (it's my brothers car, but he has 2 so I use one).. Enough money so I can have enough to get food every day, every week, but unfortunately, money is a huge issue for me lately, so on top of all my other problems, with depression and anxiety, life is way more tough than anyone in this world deserves.. Sorry if I have some bad written English, it's not my native language... No wonder people want to ctb bc of money too, we need money to eat and live.. It sucks.....:(

I add aliens/zombies into the mix so they can suffer even more. The dollar can collapse and they can be worth nothing but they will still have their name. People will still care. Zombie apocalypse/alien invasion, however, no one will care because society is destroyed. There is no system. No one is rich. No one is poor. Nothing matters but true survival.

I never understood the appeal of sports cars, though. They sure are pretty and fast, but what's the point? Real estate I can understand.

Yup I have never been this broke before in my life and the only reason I have been able to afford food is because I have gotten money from my parents this month but they are broke too and they even told me yesterday that they really couldn´t afford giving me money next month they even had to loan some money to get by this month and here I am sponging off them.

To have a good life the first thing you will need is money all the other things comes after because without money you won´t have a have, food, electricity all the essentials to existing. And these days I feel so taunted by the mega millions that just got bumped to 1.6 billion USD. And I keep imagining telling my best "friend" that I won just how amazing it would feel but of course I can´t even afford a ticket and if no one wins next week I WILL buy a ticket for the drawing 2. November even though I live in Europe but people can play outside the US. I have even day dreamed about if I won those money I could give 1 million USD to every ACTIVE member in here because I bet we are only maybe 100 people who regularly use this site and I know other people in here are poor and with 1.5 billion I wouldn´t even feel losing those money and it would mean the world to all the other poor people in here, but of course this is just stupid dreaming I will never win the good people NEVER win in life.

We're enslaved on Earth, it's really that simple. We only work to make our employers richer. And for that wonderful privilege, we get to pay taxes to make our governments better off. Our bosses act like they're king shit for hiring us - as if slaving away and sucking up to vile, entitled customers all day is something to be grateful for. Many people who work don't even make enough to get by or live independently. And heaven forbid you actually have an accident, get sick, or experience something else beyond your control, because you'll be paying for that little joke until kingdom come. We are ripped off and nickeled and dimed every step of the way, making it impossible to thrive. Rising living expenses, inflation stealing wealth from the people, dwindling purchasing power, you name it, it exists to keep us trapped. My favorite has to be banks now charging us every month for giving them our money in the form of a simple bank account. And all the while we're tempted with pipe dreams like the lottery or home based businesses that only make the people selling you whatever dream richer. This world makes me so fucking nauseated.

Health trumps wealth by miles imo. Good luck having fun when your confined to a wheel chair or living with crippling pain from some degenerative disease. Health keeps you active, alive, outgoing with life/relationships etc. whereas wealth often breeds isolation and resentment from others, while attracting the superficial.

Feel the same way, this is one of the main reasons why I'm depressed and want to just vanish from the earth. I'm currently trying to get my drivers license, I've failed thrice already, the thing is that it costs tons of money, money I can't make with currents wages and I cannot even find a job at all. I keep getting rejected and when I do find a job, I get fired instantly. I got fired on the fifth day at my last job. This is just one example, there are many more when it comes to financial problems.

For me, what I feel that happens is that the lack of money brings a variety of other issues, such as depression, which makes you dumb, slow, stupid and unable to chase or devote yourself to something you really love in life... Also, being out of money makes you less likely to maintain a job and as the time goes by, everything is just more difficult...

was because of the capitalist transformation of societies, which was strong for all nations.
I am envious of the small populations scattered around the world who live in villages, valleys, mountains and forests with their own livelihood and are happy. Sometimes I just wanted to this.

I agree, this kind of life seems to be much more peaceful than ours. But probably only for those who grew up this way, we may be too corrupted already to live like that and actually enjoy it. Or maybe not. I'd say it's worth a try.

There aren't many spaces in this world that aren't commodified. The places you can interact with others without being expected to pay are shrinking. The library, nature (being rapidly encroached upon too). Just adding one of the isolating things about being poor.

I sometimes feel like even if we lived in a post-capitalist utopia I would still feel like shit because my brain is just shit and I wouldn't fit in. But who knows, maybe I would be happier. Anyway, what I know is that I'm not happy at all in our current society and that this society isn't gonna change soon. So really the only option to escape this hellhole is to ctb.

It's not free market capitalism though. Now we live under massive government regulation and high taxation.

Except for the fact that they don't have medical care, have no access to education or law enforcement, have no sanitation, only can rely on what food they can find and grow themselves and there are no pensions and benefits and most people die in young years. Life in the West isn't great for sure, however these people's lives aren't either.
There is always going to be some kind of problem in life, unfortunately :/
