I guess have to be injected, also where would anyone get hold of that, unless was a medical professional. Although I suppose might depend on where you live. Sorry not more help, hanging and slitting wouldn't be a way I'd wish to go, but interested what replies get about the Lidocaine and if its easier to get hold of than I imagine.

Sorry, topical lidocaine won't make a difference when you're cutting deep. And for hanging, I doubt the surface pain/discomfort is the unpleasant part.

Feel free to put some lidocaine on your skin and then stick a pin or thumbtack in. I can guarantee you'll feel that. Now imagine cutting through skin, flesh and tendons. Nope.

As stated above topical lidocaine will not help, as it will only help with the most superficial layers. In theory you could inject lidocaine, but not only would that be difficult for you to acquire but you would have to inject a lot of it because it affects a fairly small area

One thing you could do is use ice to numb the tissue. ice would only limit blood flow for a short amount of time, but it might make the process a little bit more comfortable for you. In the end I think a certain amount of discomfort goes with the territory of those two methods.
