In my letter what should I include so my friend can come and get my cats? He doesn't know what I'm planning but he is trustee of the cats.

Thank you yes. I have a friend who knows my landlord. I have made him trustee of the cats I've asked in my letter to the first responders to call him , my friend, to come get the cats. Which I'll have in cages. So as not to tramitize them with ems and police. I have asked my friend to care for them till he finds homes and or local shelters where I have a connection. To place them.. and left him some money to do so. Just worried I did enough. They are all I have I'm alone in the world no family etc. and I've had enough.I use cat sitters when I go on holiday who come to the house twice per day do the food and water and litter box and play with them. I've already approached them to see if they would like to adopt them if and when anything happens to me and they said they would. It's big weight off my mind as that was one of the reasons i couldn't ctb yet. I love my cats to bits and couldn't just leave it to chance so I do understand your problem/situation. I can't offer any advice I can only sympathize
Same town knows my landlordNot sure what first responders would do with them normally, but maybe just a line like "I've asked <so and so> to come and get the cats. Can you please contact this person at <number> and let them know to pick them up. Thank you". That's my best idea, not sure if they'd do it or not. Is your friend relatively close distance wise, they may not wait very long for them.
Just want to hope the first responders feel the same and call my friend to get them.Pets are really one of the few good things in life and it's good that you've got them in your plans, from what I've read on here they're usually the one thing most people keep going for. I know it was one end of January. Had all the time since wife 1000 miles away for a week but the dogs need to be taken care of.
Thank you. I have 4. My plan is to put them in cages so they don't freak out with ems. My work will do a wellness check so won't be more than a day.I have a kitty and decided to wait out her natural life ... so this is something I have played out every possible scenario in my head. On top of leaving a note for first responders, I would set up a scheduled GMAIL to your friend with all the information they need. You can schedule it for 24hrs later and then cancel it if you change your mind. Leave out enough water and kibble for a week. You could also make up some BS story you are traveling for a week (job, dead relative, anything that would be plausible) and ask the friend to take the cat for the week. That way you know your kitties situation is sorted out ahead of time.
