• Hey Guest,

We wanted to share a quick update with the community.

Our public expense ledger is now live, allowing anyone to see how donations are used to support the ongoing operation of the site.

Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

My partner got an email from a close family member's Google account (one of them) stating that he's been noted as the legacy contact and since it's been 3 months since the account was last active, they are notifying him.

This close family member is alive and told my partner to ignore the email. The family member is depressed and clearly is or was suicidal.

Question is .. if my partner clicks the link to view the Google drive that his family "left" for him, will the family member receive a notice of this? There isn't much info about how this works online because usually the account holder is dead.

I know there's no notification when someone accessed folders shared with dropbox and as long as there's no need to sign into the account I don't expect notifications would occur but the only certain way to find out is to set it up with some dummy accounts and give it a dry run.

Yeah, unfortunately the dummy account isn't possible, shortest interval of time you can set it up for is 3 months. I appreciate your thoughts though!

I'd expect the family members already removed anything of interest from the folders anyway.
