For starters, thank you so much to all the members on this forum who have contributed and helping me get closer to my goal of CTB. It means so much to me and without your extra advice, I would not be as propelled forward in this plan. This post is just about how I'm using the scuba method and it is for reference the Neptune iii model with the Sl 35 tx 300 din and the adapters as shown in the photo connected to the practice tank. so far breathing capacity has been good though I can't seem to get a tight enough seal, even when strapping on correctly the mask as instructed in various videos and instruction manual It's like there's always a breath of air that I feel seeping at the bottom portion of the mask. I don't know if this is normal or if it's a sign that it isn't tight enough despite when it's being clinched closely against my face and nose bridge to the point of causing discomfort, but when I loosen the straps that leads to a seal leak. The video is showing the folded vs non folded silicone skirt due to uncertainty of which way it needs to be.

The Peaceful Pill Handbook states that exit bags are the ideal thing to use with inert gas because there are often gaps in mask seals, ESPECIALLY after consciousness is lost, when the facial muscles contort. Even if you get it to seal perfectly, that may change once you lose consciousness. Idk what else to tell you.

Female and I have long hair which I keep in a low ponytail during mask donning.
Ok. Fair enough. Only other thing I can think of is that the pressure is too high and when you tighten the mask up, the pressure builds up and pushes the rubber (neoprene, whatever) away at the weakest point. Are you using O2 to test your setup, or are you just breathing and noticing leakage? Does your mask have a CO2 exhalation valve (didn't look it up)? But, it seals properly when it's cinched tightly, although it's just uncomfortable? Is there some "middle point" in the adjustment you can use that isn't too tight to cause discomfort, nor too loose to allow leakage?

I'm just donning the mask without connecting it to a tank and focusing on breathing to get used to the motion of it all and the overall surrealism. The discomfort I can get passed it's just the issue of knowing if the breath pushing itself out of the bottom part of the mask will cause failure in ctb but your correct that it doesn't have a exhaust valve.

I'm curious if the nitrogen tank valve needs to be opened all the way or not during the breathing process. I guess the pressure will be the same since there is the scuba regulator.
