I saw a Psychiatrist today about help with anxiety/depression/mood swings. She did the full Psych Eval. There's a new method where they take your DNA in order to determine which medication would best match your genetics. The results should be back in a week. I've been disappointed so many times with meds in the past that one more disappointment would hardly be a surprise. This really is a last chance at trying to improve a seemingly hopeless situation. Anybody want to share their experience?

It's good to see that you're exhausting all your options before deciding to ctb. That's how everyone should approach it

I'm really proud of you for trying all you can first, I feel the same. I want to exhaust every single avenue to have any quality of life because I lost my best friend to chronic illnesses and knowing she fought hard and tried everything she could brought me peace when she eventually decided to end her suffering. Sadly I've run out of options personally, but I've heard of multiple people in support groups I'm in having success with tests of this sort to help choose medication. I'm sending you good luck and hugs!

Thankyou for the feedback and hugs. Sorry to hear you've run out of options.
If I have one good day followed by 5 or 6 bad days, is this "quality of life?" NO. That is close to being a living hell. Nobody has infinite fight in them. I'm still planning for the end. Absolutely, not looking forward to it.
Keep me posted on how you're doing.

Hey! Yes I took this Genetics test and got back my results and it helped me so much. Every drug that I told my doctor that I was feeling worse from was actually because I couldn't process it (break it down in my liver). So they put me on something that I was able to metabolize.

Also, all the mainstream antidepressants made me feel like total shit because most are broken down by the same enzymes.
