Sorry for my bad english in advance
Long story short, I failed to get a job in my country(age 29) so last night I tried partial hanging from doorknob and pipe line in my house.
First few times, I did it in a wrong way and this gave a feeling of head exploding.
After few research, I tried to hang it BELOW my Adam's apple, and I think this gave me a good shot. I don't know whether it was a process or not, but I began to hyperventilate like snoring, and I almost blacked out if I stayed still.
The thing is after these attempts, I now have serious pain in cervical vertebra. This feels so bad that I can't even move my head on my bed.
I will try another shot in few hours soon, wonder if I should bear with hyperventilation(more like snoring) and if yall also had pain in cervical vertebra like me.

I'm so sorry you're at this point and had to go through this. Partial is really hard, I tried a lot and never had much luck with it.

The above or below the Adam's apple issue is a very good discussion point. I've read plenty of literature on it and still don't have a clear answer (including in full suspension).

I've trialled it with the rope above the Adams apple. I can get to the point of my eyesight fading and a feeling of losing consciousness without any problems breathing. It always takes a few goes to get in the right position so the rope doesn't burn or pinch too much. It is a case of increasing pressure by pulling down bit by bit. I think when I get the feeling I'm losing consciousness I'll just keep that pressure until I black out completely with no choking or inability to breathe until I'm unconscious at least but I haven't been able to fight si completely yet and I abort at the last minute.
It is just a case of getting the right spot on the neck. I have used a thin scarf round my neck to stop the rope punching my skin. The rope is blue polycord around 8mm thick.
I am hanging the rope from the attic and the ligature is a bit lower than my neck height. there will be furniture either side of me so I don't move around too much and cause the knot to slip or move.
Just got to fight the si I think.

I don't think anyone needs to experience choking or restricted breathing because I don't.

Thanks for sharing.
I tried above the Adam's apple again, and this time I got a feeling of light dizziness in my head. I felt weird and I guess this was most closest to the pass out, but I aborted because I wasn't ready for ctb or coward. I think I just need one more step to push forward the progress but not sure when panic comes.
I think you got the point that we need to increase pressure by pulling down. At first, I thought that only my weight could lead me to unconscious, but for partial suspension, I needed to increase the pressure gradually while conscious.
I used 6mm thick rope and the ligature was about 4 inch higher than my top head while kneeling position. I also didn't use any paddings. Some posts suggested to put paddings to more accurately target the sweet spot, but when I used paddings such as socks and t-shirt, it just gave me a feeling of head exploding.

Hope we find peace. Thanks.

I hope that you find the peace you search for, I hate how it's so unnecessarily difficult to die, I find it so horrible how we cannot just have the option to easily cease existing. But anyway best wishes.

Paddings haven't worked for me either, I tried rolled up socks, rice filled socks, toilet rolls with different amounts of tissue still on them, I couldn't get any to work.

Each time I go back to try partial I can either not get it exactly right, or I have to have a few goes again by making adjustments, but it should be possible to at least black out without choking. After that I guess anyone is relying on the ligature remaining tight enough.

But after reading an article a few days ago where someone dropped dead as soon as someone grabbed them round the neck - which was caused by the hand compressing the vagus nerve I have wondered if some people have actually ended up compressing that nerve rather than the artery. Compressing the nerve should be hard to do because it is deep inside the neck but it is still possible and should result in instant death, not even going unconcious or choking. I guess as the nerve goes up the neck and to the back of the head and is still deep inside, when people jump or fall and hit the back of their head, they also die instantly from damage to that nerve where it is in the head.

Although it appeared to be unheard of before, the autopsy confirmed the pressure with which the neck was grabbed was enough to compress the nerve.

Have you made a progress? Since last month trials, I haven't had a chance to ctb. but now I am finally alone in my home and planning to do full suspension in mountain.
Also I looked up online about the vagus nerve method, it seemed not possible with partial suspension. Can you share the article by any chance?
Wonder if you are still looking for partial suspension?!

Due to failing so much to get the compression so I believed the knot wouldn't slip and the ligature would stay tight, and the situation with SN I decided to buy SN quick as a 3rd option to hanging/night night and jumping. I have been set on using the SN now, the only thing delaying me has been upcoming appointments. I've never been one for planning either , so the thought of 'take this now, then in an hour do this' and so on doesn't sit well. I'd like to just think, it's bedtime now and do whatever I need to right then.

The article is a PDF of a report about the accidental death:
