Not that I have the easiest access to high enough buildings, but ive been considering this method

Does anyone know if jumping back down or face down is better? I like the idea of back down so I dont have to see the ground, but idk if that raises/decreases survivability (this is also assuming i dont flip in the air and i land the way i jumped off). I know technically diving and landing head first is better, but it makes me cringe and i don't like the idea of my head exploding.

Also just the science or explanation for something ive been curious about, what does it where your body calls it quits? Can it really be instant on impact? I know all your bones break and your organs move around and tear, etc. But i just dont get what makes it death on impact. I'm also terrified/anxious that no matter how high the jump is, I'll at least lie there alive for a while with the wind knocked out of me and my body parts sticking out.

Landing on your back from a not-high jump could lead to full paralysis, taking any chance you have of ending yourself, because you will be under care forever. Beyond poor souls that have to endure that... As for the head, I do not know the science, but a heavy impact would just squash ur brain instantly, so I don't think the brain would have enough time to even process the pain...

But again, I really don't know, but jumping is very risky, be careful please.

Jumping head first may be achieved by tying a small umbrella to on of your feet. It will pull your feet up while you fall but still not slow you down to much if your jumping from higher than 10 m. Landing head first may alsow break your neck and cause instant painless death with no time to process it.

Answered part of my own question thanks to chatgpt lol

Stomach is better because you're more likely to damage major organs and blood vessels. Landing on your back can kill you, but theres a chance it'll take a little longer since mostly your back, lungs, and heart take the impact. Unfortunately, stomach first if you don't like the idea of diving for your head.

I'm far from an expert, but I think that after jumping you have zero control over your position. What you want to avoid at all costs is landing on your feet. So the best thing to do is probably curl up into a ball during the fall.

That's goofy af XD Idk if you're being serious or not. Umbrellas flip inside out with mild wind, you think it'll help pull your feet up as you're plummeting?

I have always wondered if you were to find a suitable bridge, cliff etc that was remote. Would jumping at night help overcome S.I due to not being able to see the ground ?

I know it might sound weird but there is a specific type of umbrella that doesn't flip for the first 5-6 meters and by that time you will already be falling head first.
See this video at 4:08. The blunt umbrella slows him down just from 1.3sec to 1.5 sec from 10 meters, though he is holding it in his hand and not tied to his foot.

There is also a jumping from height guide thread:
