I plan on spending my last days with my parents. We own an apartment in another state that we use for vacation. I plan on jumping off my balcony (16 stories). There's also "public" balconies that I might be able to access that's 23 stories. I don't have many options for methods. How do I ensure I land on my head if I have to climb over the railing? Is this even viable?

Unfortunately, there's no certainty when it comes to jumping. And should you not succeed and survive, you'll end up with serious and permanent injuries.

An Olympic diver would have a tough time landing precisely on his head from 16 stories (192 feet) or 23 stories (276 feet). Doesn't matter where you land, there's no surviving either.

If I may ask, what's your reason for wanting to do this?

Well that's kinda reassuring.

For killing myself? I have schizoaffective disorder mixed type, and have been having a shitty year and a half due to it and things have not been improving and I'm tired of it. I was put on a new medication, and maybe if that changes things I won't go through with it. But honestly I'd rather kill myself then deal with anything anymore. I'm just tired

I hear you. Well, maybe the new medication will change things. If not, your doctors and you will keep trying until the right medication is found.

The good thing about suicide is that it doesn't spoil or rot or disappear; it'll always be there if and when you need it.

If you just started a new med, give it time and give your dr a chance for titration. Otherwise, your plan sounds solid.
