everyone knows that jumping takes a lot of courage, but does some jumping locations makes it easier? i dislike the jumping method but i wonder if there's a place where i feel more comfortable jumping at.

I think the location might make it easier. If the view is nice, you feel a sense of peace, and maybe if theres good memories attached to the location as well. It all depends on the person and their preferences though.

I can imagine so, like if someone is jumping somewhere quiet where there is less risk of someone trying to interfere in their plans I imagine that they might feel more comfortable and it might make it easier for them, I certainly admire those with the courage for this method.

I have a location in mind that I have fond memories of. It's 250ft down to a dried up riverbed (rocks), my concern is the landing area is only about 15 feet wide, and then it slopes upwards and the ground becomes dirt filled with vegetation. I feel if I hit my landing zone head first I'm good to go, my fear is if I miss!

While I feel that it's always going to be terrifying, a natural location like a cliff feels less grim than something urban like a car park so maybe that would be easier for me. After an aborted Beachy Head attempt I'm not sure I'll ever have the courage for it, though.

What made you abort at Beachy Head, if you don't mind me asking?

I walked up and down the edge for about an hour trying to find a good jumping point but nothing appeared to be a straight drop once I was looking down. Worked myself up into a bit of a state imagining rolling down and ending up paralysed that I had to give up and go home.

Thanks, yes I can very easily imagine myself doing the same thing. It's disappointing how hard it is to find a good spot.

Beachy Head, the White Cliffs of Dover and Ben Nevis to name but a few. The latter has the chance of defeating you in other ways too, such as hypothermia & exhaustion.

I would think that jumping locations make it easier. Jumping would be my first method: you could go to the place a lot of times, so your anxiety gets down. Its very simple in terms of execution and very fast.
Sadly there are no locations in Hamburg, and no locations in Germany that I know
