I want to committ preferably with either CO or SN, but if the circumstances doesn't allow it, how high is the chance of dying if I jumped in front of a train going approximately 20mph?

I'm no expert but it sounds like a speed where you'd be taking a pretty horrendous chance of coming out awfully disfigured but not necessarily dead. In general it is not a good method but probably even more so at this speed.

I figured. I think the train must be going at least double it, so 40mph.

Almost no chance of dying at 20mph! Ideally you want 70-90mph to avoid surviving with injuries

20mph? Very survivable, even if multiple tons where behind that speed.

40mph? Not-very, but possible to survive. Might not be for a train, but it is for cars. You could be conscious and in agony for a bit.

60+ mph? Now that's fast enough for instant death. 70mph and above would be perfect, but 60mph still a good speed.

Make sure you'll be unseen right before you jump, though heavier trains like cargo-carriers can have a huge minimal-stopping distance (and often have little to no human oversight). Lighter ones for passengers can slow early enough to be survivable.

Don't be visible really close to the tracks, unless others are doing that in a subway or something. Actually, don't do it on a subway or passenger train station. Just don't. Don't give people the image of yourself fucked up like a fly.

I'd prefer to seemingly vanish from this world, instead of, uh, exploding in a bloody mess... Especially if everyone will see it in person, in the news, etc. I hope you're certain with this.

if you're here in the eu, to decrease the likelyhood of copy-cat suicides, the news will not publically report anything. but that could just mean it's even worse for the people who do physically witness it.

I don't mind people knowing I ctb too much, I just wish for that moment to be just for me, and without bringing in those uninvolved. I'd prefer to vanish, but I'd be fine if the news eventually finds my body. People getting shot, killed, suicide, etc on the news is just another Tuesday.

I am a bit curious to how the eu news handles suicide. Like they don't report on any suicides, or only if they think there will be copy-cats? It it a general thing for eu news to be censored to be less upsetting?

thank you so much. yeah this is more of an absolute last resort method to be fair, it kinda hit me that I might never get my hands on SN or even CO.

I live in us, so I can get myself a shotgun. Instant, simple, effective. My last resort would be to use a rope and a chair, it can be terrifying but once you're hanging your stuck unless someone else interferes (or you kept a knife at hand?).

Even at 20mph I'm sure you would get crushed underneath the train. If someone led down in front a train going 20mph they would surely get crushed.

Sorry I meant surely going 20mph will kill you.
This graphic refers to vehicles, but I think it rejects your claim (it is in km/h, so multiply by 0.6)
