That's what blows my mind. The innocent people can't get a guaranteed peaceful humane death but a killer can. I'm ready to go soon.

Given the debate around lethal injection at the minute l wouldn't say this was entirely true. Criminals also don't get executed immediately, it's a horribly drawn out administrative process during which the inmate spends several years on death row. Neither quick nor peaceful in my opinion.

More than several. It's like 12. And they get segregated, which often means worse living conditions.

Well yeah, they spend 10-20 years on death row while the board of directors and judges play God with your life. And then you get lethal injection which can cause serious problems or side effects. But you don't hear pro-lifers calling for them to live, infact it's the opposite I believe.

ultimately its about making them suffer, strip away all their power, condemning them to a pointless existence and making them work for free in prison.

Seriously what's the point of living if you go to jail for the rest of your life or even for only 20 years, once you go to jail for a long time your life is over.

it should be given the option of suicide when convicted for many years

What pro-lifers have to say on this is essentially a moot point. Earlier you described criminals as being given a "peaceful" death, anyone having to wait upwards of ten years in torturous conditions for their inevitable and perhaps painful demise is not to be envied in the same way a dignitas tourist is. The comparison you made between death row inmates and us, in terms of finding a peaceful and humane departure, is plainly absurd.

Sorry, didn't mean for it to come out like that. I feel like I'm on death row, waiting for the inevitable. I know I'm a bad person not fit for society, not fit to connect with anyone or anything. My survival instinct are like the wardens and I'm still waiting awhile. Not everyone on here is bad, just had bad life experiences.

Fair enough, l get that, l should apologise for coming across in such an abrasive manner. The thing is, I've seen on more than one occasion on here that someone will gripe about how death row prisoners have their death supported by pro-lifers / access to a humane death / a peaceful exit, whatever. It's really inaccurate and shouldn't be argued imo.

In fact, l avoid a lot of the MAN I HATE PRO LIFERS rants; l mean, yes, pro-lifers make it impossible to have a dignitas, free at the point of request, on every street corner but the fact is no pro-life argument is preventing any of us from ctb, it's just white noise in the background. The only things keeping each of us from ctb are things within ourselves.

Humanity is so fucking twisted! You're only "sound of mind" if you request death after killing someone. Here we are being punished just for being born yet can't get shit. Fuck society.

Yes, such is the hypocrisy of society. It is perfectly acceptable for most of the populace to be ok with the death penalty yet not euthanasia, smh.

My survival instinct are like the wardens and I'm still waiting awhile. Not everyone on here is bad, just had bad life experiences.

Yeah, I like your analogy of the survival instinct to the prison warden. It makes a lot of sense and something I haven't heard of before. *thumbs up*

The only things keeping each of us from ctb are things within ourselves.

This is quite true in a lot of situations. Most oftenly, we have unfinished business, affairs, and other things to sort out before we go through with ctb'ing. Also another thing to add is that we are also waiting for a reliable method along with a reliable plan to ensure that we succeed and not fail during our attempt.

It's unfair I don't have control over my own bodily autonomy to the point I can't choose to end my life in an efficient and pain free manner, while someone that takes the life of another gets to.

How is that right

See above. Spending over a decade literally on death row awaiting a potentially painful demise is not something to envy. I understand the envious feeling towards dignitas tourists, or those who die swiftly in an accident, but death row? Ffs.

I see your point. If they didn't have to wait so long it would be alot better but the fact they have to wait so long makes it not appealing anymore. Still messed up how they can request it though and it be fine.

The death sentence isn't, and never will be, by request. It just so happens that in this instance the guy wanted the death penalty and the judge was, in all likelihood, going to pass such a sentence anyway. If a sentencing court acted upon the wishes of the convicted defendants they'd be asking for pardons, not death.

Shoo, even I am kind of relieved you didn't go through with it.

Isn't that awful? I hate being a damn human. Somebody I didn't even really know on the internet was going to kill themselves, didn't, and I feel like that's something good even though I envied how close he was and wish I was even closer.

That's how fucked up life is. Either way, welcome back.

Honestly, I'm always baffled about countries having death penalties. Exactly how is ending someone's life considered a worse punishment than imprisoning them for the rest of their life? It just prematurely ends their suffering.

Some people want to get out and keep living even if it's a long as time from now. So death to people like that seems worse.

Sure, I can see that argument for people who will get out before their time passes naturally, but what about people who have prison sentences of 100+ years? People who will die in prison regardless?
