It is just me are are job expectations for new jobs seemed fucked now-a-days.
Every new job that I have started seems to either have zero training.
If they do have training, they expect you to learn everything within two weeks and start doing the job on your own.
You also have to learn every little detail about the job. It's like they are just dumping loads and loads of information and expect you to absorb it all.
If they see you are struggling within the first few days, they start to think doubt if they hire the right person.
They always say you can ask questions. But in reality you just start to freeze up the moment you realize you can't remember the first few steps because so much information has been dumped on you.
I am sure for people that are quick learners this isn't an issue. But for people that are a little slower to pick up things, this is super frustrating.
It seems like we now adopted the logic that you can learn the job "as you do". And ask questions as you go.
But in reality this is super frustrating because you end up bothering people every two seconds for the first few months.
And lets be honest. You can be the nicest person and always willing to help. But we workers have to to their own work and can't sit there all day answering questions.
