  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam

Context here:
He had beaten back an aggressive kidney cancer in 2009 and again in 2012, when it had returned and metastasized. But increasing pain and his growing intolerance of pain medications compelled him to end his life before his health deteriorated further and he became a burden to his family, said his producing partner Federico Duran of Rhayuela Films, who served as show runner on "A Thousand Fangs."
Sounds like he wanted to live until the pain was too great and death is inevitable. I don't know him or his show, but I wish he's at peace. Cancer is such a bitch.

"Somehow, he plotted his own ending, as if he were the writer of his own script. In his moment of greatest glory, he made the decision and put the words 'The End' to his own life. Fly high, my brother."

Damn, that hits hard.

I wonder if it's easier for rich people to access assisted suicide

I'm sure it helps to have money if the country you live in doesn't have AS, you'd be able to travel to somewhere that does.

Wow never knew that Colombia had AS. I went there a few years ago - but it is doubtful they would have offered it to a tourist. Very sad that he was in so much pain.

May he rest in peace, and may assisted suicide one day be available to everyone on this Earth!

Absolutely. They have the money to go to a country that allows euthanasia, while the majority of us have to do it ourselves. This world is all about money. If you have it - you get anything you want. If you don't have money - they you have to ctb on your own and take your chances that it will work.

True, but he also had a terminal illness. This would have made it an easier decision for the clinic to make because of that. However, I agree with the fact that money does help with travel and the payment to the clinic.

At least now he is free from all suffering and he got to die at a time of his own choosing, rather than die a slow painful death. It is cruel how this option is not legal in my country, even for people with terminal illnesses. Pro life is really pro suffering.

He seems like he was extraordinarily talented. I'm sure his decision was not made capriciously or lightly. I hope he died with the level of promised dignity to him. May he rest peacefully.
