Venting I've never been told "I love you"

I've been told "I love you" by exactly two people in my life.

One destroyed my self confidence and put me in years of debt.

The other ruined me as a person, tried to kill me and made me lose everything I had.

Look for people who show you love through their actions, not their words. You deserve to be surrounded by people who love you through actions, because words can easily be faked.

The philosopher Vernon Howard noted that the more someone uses the word love, the less they mean it. This is true in my personal life. It's a word that's never used by my mother with me, and vice versa. Our deeds and treatment of one another is what matters.

Another saying asserts that to be trusted is greater than to be loved. That same principal has sometimes been suggested for the concept of respect.
