Are there people here who are 25 years old or older and who have never been to a psychiatrist or psychologist, but really want to die?

Guys who are under 25 years old, please do not be offended that I ask a question to people of my age
I have nothing against you in any case
I just want to ask about people my age

I'm 27. I've seen 5 different psychiatrists and 2 different psychologists since becoming an adult.

Pyschiatrists feel like a McDonald's drive through. You just say the magic words for your symptoms and they give you the medicine you want.
It's cold and transactional. They don't inquire or show you options or anything. You pay to get prescription drugs. That's it.

Psychologists feel more like a place to vent. Then they tell you to do one or two things different, you feel good leaving the clinic,
and then life goes back to normal next day.

Maybe my experience isn't universal,
but psychgologists/iatrists aren't the deal that they are hyped up to be.

I've never been and I think I'll never consider going to a psychiatrist or psychologist. There are a lot of factors that lead me to that conclusion. One is how expensive the service is in my country and to be honest, I think it's not worth the price.

Hi. I'm 29 here. Been to a psychiatrist and it was bittersweet in my case. It helped me to internalise why I was feeling that way and then prescribed medicine that did absolutely nothing.
However, I'm sure that if I hadn't gone, I would not be here today. I was suffering too much.
I saw a psychologist too, but let's say she just wasn't for me. The advice she gave me didn't help much.
If you've never been, I strongly recommend you to speak about what's really bothering you. Look for someone that listens and helps you to get better, regardless if it's a psychologist or psychiatrist. Don't expect a magic solution though. Healing takes time, and the first step is being able to put the suffering into words.
In case of a psychologist, you have to look for someone that "suits" you. Someone whom you can be confortable with.

Hope it helped. Take care.

I wish I could say I've never been to a psychiatrist, my life would probably be a lot better.

In all honesty . Psychiatrists are not helpful at all except for pushing drugs on you to make you feel shittier than you already do . Or to give you meds that help short term but end up with serious withdrawal when you stop . I've been to many therapists and for me it really wasn't worth the money but people do have success. I am 25.

i suspect a few modalities like emdr and somatic experiencing are effective but its largely a pseudoscientific grift. There is no agreement on basic concepts at the highest levels and its politicized. Psychopathy would be much more effectively dealt with as they are the root cause of most normal peoples issues, but they arent, because the medical, legal and political systems rely on trained psychopaths, ie people who can suspend their empathy for others.
