I've tried SN before and wasn't a fan. At all.

I really, really don't want to celebrate the Holidays alone.

I'm just frustrated because I feel like every single method has its downfalls or I could end up in a vegetative state if I do it wrong.

I have the resources to find a way out but SN seemed like the best but what I experienced was awful.

I'm just so frustrated right now and I wish the SN worked like how I wanted it to.

I do believe that SN is a reliable method as so many have succeeded with it after all. But it must had been so horrible going through that bad experience, I find it terrifying how methods can potentially go wrong and lead to some kind of damage, that is what holds me back. And of course I get that it's so tiring having to struggle so much in finding ways to die, if only the option is there to just pass away in our sleep but sadly that's not the reality.

What went wrong with your attempt with SN to cause you to want to steer clear of it?

Well I don't have the proper meds to go along with the method. I had tachycardia and I was having panic attacks and I threw up. I almost died but it was unpleasant.

Sometimes I legitimately have anxiety just talking about it. It makes me feel strange bc I feel as if everyone likes it but I don't. I just can't get myself to ever try it again.

Tachycardia mostly. Also I was stumbling. Just all around not okay. I'm feeling weird taking about it.

I can definitely understand that thinking about the experience would bring you discomfort. I am sorry to have caused this for you. Thank you for sharing your story.

I'm just frustrated. I thought I would've had a plan by now but every method was scary besides SN - but my experience wasn't good either.

Unfortunately they're all kind of scary. I even had N ready to go, but was still terrified of the idea that I had missed something, would hurt people, or whatever. Painless is impossible, we're all giving up on the idea of the person we wanted to be. That is terrifying and painful.

How long ago did you try it? I find as time passes you tend to be less afraid of experiences that went wrong before.

This is my fear when it comes to SN. It would make me panic for sure.

Leaning forward on a noose and going out like a light seems more ideal.

Everything is so ridiculously scary with anxiety, our literal physical nerves, and SI.

Just wanna turn off this machine and scrap it 'cause it's trash…

I'm sorry about your negative experience. Could you explain how you almost died? Were you rescued or did you feel compelled to seek medical attention?

So, the real problem was that the established protocol was not / could not be followed. That answers that.

I'll never understand why people think of any kind of poison as "peaceful," with the possible exception of the opioids. When I think about possible methods, I think about lethality and speed. Dying from any cause is bound to be horrible. Disneyworld didn't include a "Dyingland" among its various parks for a reason. (Although if they did, I'd go …)

My preferred method is firearms, although that's really only viable in the U.S. I think if guns were inaccessible to me, I'd probably look at jumping. The fear from SI would be horrible, but the worst of it would only last seconds, and if you jump from above a certain height, immediate death on impact is pretty much assured.

Hypothetically anyway, something like BASE jumping could chip away at the frozen terror you might feel at the edge of a precipice. I don't think jumping off tall objects ever becomes comfortable for most people, but a combination of "exposure therapy" and muscle memory propels BASE jumping enthusiasts over the edge time and again. Perhaps one day you deliberately don't pack your chute properly, and that's that. It might even get cataloged as an accident.

I'd prefer not to have to resort to jumping, because heights terrify me so much, but I'm seriously considering getting a short-barreled shotgun and rehearsing an unloaded head shot with it again and again until the motions feel natural and automatic. Hopefully that would get me through the real thing when and if it became necessary.

I'm so sorry you feel the way you do. I got the impression that poison would be peaceful bc of what I've read online but it wasn't. I genuinely have PTSD from it and I felt bad bc of the nurses and doctors caring for me.

So, I guess there are only two options. One is to take corrective action and fix the protocol followed, or two, find another method. I know you already know this.
Yes I know. I'm just frustrated rn.
