The governments are catching on and making all the desirable methods harder and harder to acquire. Just a few years ago Helium was still reliable.

There will never be an assisted CTB service, we are only moving in the opposite direction.

I have to act fast and acquire methods ASAP.

Agree and with the help of the Google tracking and ai they can put u in a mental hospital indefinitely because you are deemed a threat to yourself.

Just 4 years ago I remember seeing hundreds of online SN sources that delivered to individuals no questions Asked . Now I don't see hardly any so they are moving in the opposite direction. If SN is so painful and ineffective why have they restricted it so much since people started using it for ctb? This was in the US

also for this reason I look for easily available methods, such as a rope or a high bridge.

I'm aware of this and it disgusts me. It's extremely cruel to try to force people to suffer and leave them with no choice but to resort to the most risky methods. It's all just because the society needs it's slaves which is why people push the lie that suicide is something "irrational". I hate this prison like existence and this world undeniably is hell.

It really is scary that society is moving in this direction. I don't plan on seeing much more happen, but I feel for those who will, because with each passing year it'll be harder and harder to CTB. Obviously there will still be methods like hanging, jumping, by train and stuff like that, but even those may get harder in the future.

You can always find a way if you really want to. Governments may be able to make pharmaceutical methods inaccessible, but there is no shortage of other methods.

If you live in a cold climate, you could consider hypothermia. It's a very peaceful way to go (and will be my preferred choice if the time comes). However, it does need to be thought through properly. The last thing you want is to mess it up and wake up with frostbite.

The most terrible and least peaceful death imaginable.
it really isnt.

weighing yourself down in deep water , after sedation and alcohol = no pain or SI

taking SN and 'hoping' it works is more scary to me. plus the 48 hour lead up to it that you have to follow, plus getting hold of it in the first place = terrible

I supose it's a way to lesten impulsive suicides. It may make some people reconsider there dissions. Easy acess to ctb methods could also be extremely dangerous to young people.

People accidentally die in the desert all the time. I'd just drive to the desert in the summer, walk as far as I can from my vehicle until I run out of water that I can carry, and then I'm dead.

I actually tried this a month or so ago in the Northern Territory of Australia and the police picked me up on the Stuart Highway not far from Alice Springs. I gave up because even though it was summer time it was pouring with rain and very cold. A big fail.

You're stressing for no reason.

First because there are so many ways to CTB that it's ridiculous to think that banning a substance will change anything.
Making SN or other substances harder to get won't change a thing.

People can jump, hang, drown, crash their car, poison themselves with pretty much anything...

I mean, what's the endgame? Ban windows, ropes, sea access, bathtubs, cars and 80% of products you find in any supermarket/store ?

I'm talking about legal ways here. Do you really think that someone who wants to OD won't be able to find Morphine, Fent and many other drugs knowing most of them drugs are available in either the streets or the DW since forever ?

Relax. I believe the contrary: there will be more ways to CTB available because research (individual or scientific) lead to better understanding of how our body works with molecules, chemicals, gases, and drugs. And as more and more people wish to die painlessly and with dignity, there will be fights (mostly legal) and results.

With the help of mass surveillance (brought to you by G.ggl, m$oft, facebk, internet providers) governments can assign suicide risk scores to individuals quite easily. I would not be surprised to see such sites getting banned. And I expect limitations on trading of things that can be used to harm others. SN will be unavailable in most countries soon. Imo.

Yeah mate with the 15 minute cities coming in light be hard to get to a jumping spot or soon they'll be nets.
Trains will have a vortex force field.around them so it just disables you thus deterring anyone from trying... We live in a hell Scape

I would go further and say that death itself might become restricted by the government. Or far into the future, people being born would get genetically engineered for anti-aging without their consent.

Kinda like East Germany wouldn't let people leave, even though everyone wanted to, because society would've collapsed. Same principle: if too many people become suicidal and/or obsolete due to technology, more people will want to die, and govt will have an incentive to keep people living.

Drowning is the method the protagonist chose in Jack London's semi-autobiographical book about suicide, *Martin Eden*.

maybe, or maybe assisted suicide will get more commonly accepted and legalized eventually in various countries, like in Canada.

If that's the case, there will be a lot more even more violent deaths on the hands of those who oppose the right to die. I can see sn becoming inaccessible but don't think they can realistically take away ropes and surely couldn't prevent jumping everywhere. Obviously it's unacceptable to rely on those methods though. It really is a crime forcing people to die alone in violent ways for no good reason.

I'm not against safe guards being implemented in the case of right to die laws but they need to be reasonable and ultimately not force any of us into suffering. Right now, the majority of places that offer the right to die don't even really offer it.

It really does seem like a lot of emotional arguments for why the right to die can't be allowed and it makes me far more depressed.
