Just wanting some peace

The reason as to why this is, is because existence is extremely cruel and horrifying. The fact that so much suffering exists is enough to make me want to leave. Things could easily get so much worse and anyone could end up in the most extreme pain possible. As long as we are alive, we are capable of suffering to such great extents. It is terrifying how life can torture us in so many ways. It just feels so wrong, me being alive. Life is just endless pain, misery and problems all for the sake of it. What could be the point to enduring this if we are all going to die eventually. None of this even matters.

I don't think that anyone is really content with existing, I think that people just endure life as they see no other option, dying is difficult and existence is all that they know. Even if someone did see something positive about being alive for some reason, then that could be taken away and would just cause them more pain. I think that being brought into this world is the worst thing possible. Never existing means being ignorant of all the pain in this world, they never have to suffer through a pointless existence where leaving this life behind is so difficult. The fact that the option of euthanasia is denied is incredibly cruel and selfish. I just think that everything about being alive is so terrible, and that non existence will always be objectively preferable to any kind of life.

In death, nothing can hurt us and everything that is wrong with life is gone. The dead cannot think, feel, or regret. There is no future to dread, no past memories to hurt us and no current suffering to have to endure. There is no real relief from the agony of living apart from death. Instead of a pointless existence, there will be nothing, and nothingness is ideal. All problems belong to the living, and not the dead. This is why I could never be concerned with how people were to react if I was soon to die. Everything will be gone. I believe that when I die, I will be free. Nobody should ever have to suffer. I think that death is a wonderful thing and should be respected and accepted.

The way I see it, the people that had to put up with my nonsense and crap for all these years find the peace they richly deserve with my demise. Why live in a place when you know yourself, that you're not wanted? We can read people's reactions around us to know that we're not wanted, even if their own virtue signalling refrains them from saying that they don't care. People find ways to live, survive, and cope, but when all you known is suffering and pain, then your world is nothing but that.

When I die, I don't feel freedom, I also don't feel chained. I simply do not feel because I don't exist.

The people that are left behind on this planet, they're free to feel however they want, that's on them.

life is good tho when its good and terrible when its terrible there are things worth living for like falling in love creativity art music films etc, i would love to live on my own terms where there is no pain or suffering in a beautiful world where none had to die or suffer but thats for the future to decide, there's no evidence for reincarnation and maybe life is just pointless suffering in the end but on the other hand maybe there's more to it than that, time will tell only one way to find out, how could anything ever hurt you

You made some good points.

I had a similar realization once. Wouldn't it be nice to not have to eat, or breathe, or sleep or be awake...? Then I thought: "that just means that I would be dead"

So true. Death is a very happy event for me, I can't wait to die, can't wait for everything to be over and I feel euphoric just thinking about dying.

Yes, but its cruel you have to be subject to pain or discomfort to be dead by suicide, this is hell being stuck between suffering and more suffering

Yeah... although to be fair, it isn't just extreme forms of suffering. Even in our day-to-day lives, we suffer from our desires to eat, breathe, shit, clean ourselves and surroundings, as well as mosquito bites, itchiness, dizziness, and a constant need to DO THINGS. Why? So we can experience blissful euphoria? NO, so we can be NON-SUFFERING. And we still suffer anyway. And we still die anyway. It's all such a bullshit waste of energy and the only escape (outside of death, which is frustratingly difficult as-is) is to literally forget we exist (escapism) by focusing on pointless, menial tasks and convincing ourselves that they matter, even though they don't. They only cause us even more suffering, both physical and mental. But so does not doing them. There are no winners in life, only losers, and those who choose not to play.

aging. In your mid twenties only, you're seen as old and useless if you don't have a job or a husband or children.

Imagine becoming an old lady with no job, no husband, no children.

The privileges of youth gradually lost and everything gets worst.

Very well said. Every living being is better off dead. Humans hurt each other, torture animals. There's also pain and suffering in the animal kingdom even if humans don't exist. Cruelty exists as long as life exists. All life should end.

Yeah, I don't understand why people think of life as some sort of miracle (okay, it is cool that such complex organisms formed and evolution happened and all that, but that doesn't make it a good thing). It'd be really hard for all life to end without a lot of suffering, though. An extinction level event or something would be pretty awful for everyone who's around to witness it, even if they die. And it'd probably still not wipe out all life. It sucks that we can't do anything about it, that the human race is going to keep going and going, spreading misery on to future generations until it collapses.

I think the philosophy of "life is a gift" was developed by people in power to help keep the lower classes content as they unnecessarily struggle through the torments of everyday life.

I think that existence is better than non-existence for some people, probably an overwhelming minority.
I think that most other people have been conditioned to believe that existence is a gift.
I believe that very few people (though a majority on this forum) understand that non-existence is most likely preferable.

I really want to leave. I wish I could leave now. But I know I'll be leaving behind some people (specifically my husband and mother) who won't understand. They'll think they've done something wrong. They'll be inconsolable. It will make their existences even worse, and it will be my fault. Of course, I won't have to deal with the aftermath, but in the process of killing myself, I would know what I was doing. So the moral dilemma becomes: do I want to intensify the suffering of others just to save myself?

Self Righteous Suicide

To be able to choose when and how to die is the ultimate freedom in life, thus making suicide is greatest thoughtful act human can ever do to save themselves from suffering and the earth will be better place off from human. Look at those billions of planet, stars and galaxies, they're so fucking amazing without us, human, trapped in shitty life. Amazingly we can't have too much of dead people than the living ones; the are approximately more than 100 billions of dead people in 190 thousands years of history. We had been dead for much longer than we could ever live, only 7% is alive today and that number could never exceed the death. Being dead must be frickin awesome everyone stays and never returns back in millions of years.

I agree with your stance. Philosophically, I am an antinatalist, efilist, promortalist, and tranquilist. Logically, I think the soundest decision for any organism that has the potential to perceive negative stimuli is to eliminate its conscious experience asap. Most moments alive are moments spent in negative utility. To me, nonexistence is 0, the best of all possible outcomes, and anything lesser, or -1, -2, 3, etc, from desire, want, need, pain, and suffering is to engage in an unprofitable state of affairs. Suicide is the best insurance policy I can think of. But I do not advise suicide, I'm just the messenger interpreting the data of my contemplation. We live in a waste engine, littered with carnage, playing a zero-sum game, which will be rendered futile by time and entropy. I would guess the smartest among us are no longer among us. Cheers to our resignation!!!

Is it even a zero-sum game? There's no one winning when you lose - everyone loses. Life is a strange game. The only winning move is not to play :P

All wins are short-term and shallow. There are ultimately no winners here in any substantial sense of the word. The winning move is most certainly not to play!

I am 55, never married, no kids. I don't feel old yet (although when my sciatica or plantar fasciitis act up, or when I have difficulty getting up, I do feel my age), and I'm glad I never had kids. It would have been nice to have a spouse, but as a practicing Catholic, I believe that a vital part of marriage is the procreation and rearing of children, and that birth control is immoral. Therefore, it is all for the best I never married a man or a woman. Assuming that I ultimately ctb, I will be less likely to leave behind people who would be devastated by my death.
