  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

I keep coming back to the loop that nothing matters. I am not so naive as to assume philosophers much smarter that I have already thought of this. But I began realizing the absurdity of having to rationalize our failures.

Let's ay your only dream was to become a professional figure skater. You work through the program but don't make it. You spend your life depressed because this was your only dream and you want nothing else in the world.

On the other side say you dream of it and you get there and you hate it. Or you love it. But no matter what someone loses and can't ever achieve their dream.

We are stuck in a world where society really wants most of humanity to be irrelevant. We don't want other's problems or concerns to be relevant, we fear losing relevance and we act to try and remain relevant but the programs, systems and bureaucracies work to minimize that relevance. Because being relevant is a commodity. If anyone could do it then it would lose its value.

And I think that the worst thing in the world for those who are relevant is having people stop caring about their relevance.

And if someone takes their own life then it says to everyone, "you are not relevant to me!".

That's what upsets people the most. You can't ever try and make someone feel bad. If a murdered takes their own life before trial, the family of the victim is angry that they are not relevant. If you take your life because you are a failure then all those people who "want to see you succeed as teachers or mentors" become less relevant. Your friends become less relevant.

But you no longer have to care.

I can relate. For the last few years, I wanted to get a lot better at this card game I play competitively and possibly become a "pro". Now I am making headway towards it, but it's lost all of it's luster. It, nor anything else no longer matters to me.

It is inevitable that someday we will all be forgotten no matter what, nothing will be able to matter to us once we are dead. All life is so temporary and meaningless, but I guess that many people do not think about this that much, they see their lives as being important as this existence is all they know. They cannot comprehend what it is like to not exist.
