Please correct me if I'm wrong, but since strip tests measure the concentration of NO2- and not SN itself, if I follow the guide, wouldn't the concentration of NO2- be much lower than 10mg/L since SN gets divided into Na+ and NO2- once dissolved in water..?
Any experts out there who can tell me whether this is true or not..?

Can you send me the link to this test?
From what I know of chemistry, nitrite doesn't dissociate that easily. A real chemical reaction will only happen in the stomach, which will release NO₂.

From what I know, the aquarium nitrite test strips turn redder the purer it is. To measure mine, I used that as a guide. After all, in my country, from what I've talked to others here, our SN usually has the purity indicated on the package.

I think the reaction will happen when water with SN inside makes contact with the reagent in the strip, so SN becomes Na+ + NO2- and then NO2- is measured by how much reagent changes. I'm not a chemist tho, so I could be wrong.

Yeah mine does too. But I'm thinking of testing it just in case
