Is this gun good enough?

Glock G19 9mm. I wasn't able to get the one I shipped in (357 revolver). This one is more common that I should be able to find it in store, don't want to wait for shipping all over again. Is this also very reliable? It's listed to work in the firearms thread but I still see more people recommend the revolver. I think I'd prefer to buy a pistol but if 9mm isn't good enough or they don't have it I'll see if they have any 357 revolver.

It'll work. Hollow points.

357 will also work and be cheaper, like a Taurus brand, good brand revolver is simple design don't need to worry about anything. They run about 350-400. Glock is a lot more expensive and unnecessary but it will work.

if you want to get a pistol why not get the .45? Glock 21

You can buy shotguns at Walmart. That's probably your best bet if you're serious.

I'm not sure which ones are very common in stores other than the 9 mm. But from the threads yeah that is an option, or 357Sig or 10mm (which I don't think is common in store). Never would use a shotgun personally, don't want even a 0.5% risk I live with no face left, and seems difficult to hold like that.

.45 are very common. Pistols can damage your face too and have a much higher failure rate.

It should be reliable as long as one knows where to aim and also doesn't flinch in anticipation of the recoil (which is how sometimes one hits the wrong area and gets severely injured but still alive, gravely in pain, potentially risking permanent damage). I think the hollow point bullets also add to reliability too, but shot placement is very important too.

I don't think Taurus is common in store. That is the one I ordered, 357 Taurus. However there was an issue so they made me refund it and I have to go to a different store now... So was hoping I can just get one in store today so I can get the process started rather than wait for shipping all over again.

OP doesn't sound like an experienced firearms user who wouldn't flinch. You need to practice a fair amount for that. Shotgun is more foolproof.

It's a very popular in store brand, it's sold out often because it is popular and cheaper than some of the more expensive counterparts like Ruger. You can get two Taurus for the price of one Ruger or more. I'm not sure what kind of store you're dealing with because forced returns are not something I've really heard of on firearms.
