Will I miss a human getting to Mars?
What would we do on Mars?
The mission would cost like feeding (permanently) half of Earth's population (perhaps even more), and to what purpose would we go to the red-planet?
We already know Mars isn't habitable, no water, no fertile land, eternal cold and darkness...
The whole "space program" should be terminated altogether and the trillions of dollars redirected into raising the standard of living ON THIS planet.
There are enough resources on Earth for ALL of us, regardless of our numbers, as long as our "head-count" is reasonable and as long as we use those heads.
What would be a "reasonable" number?
Well, taking into consideration that all 7,8 billion of us would fit, standing together next to each other, onto one New Zealand or in any SINGLE medium-sized state of the US... we see that the planet is not actually and physically overpopulated... It is just our way of life and a neverending greed and ambition of the several ultra-rich families that have by force seized the almost entire global capital and set the agenda.
If the wealth was fairly distributed, even a population of 50 billion would be sustainable and could live harmoniously. But eventual end of this civilization has better odds than such a positive turn in the evolution of the human mind. The man will remain a slave until the end of times.
I don't know if that will EVER happen, but I would only like to be "awakened" to witness the time when the billions of the underprivileged take the justice into their own hands and lynch the 100 organisms from the top of that infamous pyramid which had kept the world enslaved for most of its history.
The (slow and painful) death of those appx. 100 multi-billionaires and a fair redistribution of the wealth they have stolen over centuries would be a good step forward and the turning point towards survival of our civilization.
But since the times of such revolutions are long gone, we can only dream and imagine what it would have been like if the human race actually used its potential to the full with a little more altruism and less greed.. How our world would be different if MAN was inherently GOOD?
Other than the public execution of the world's "deep state" (100 people, on average 100 years old each), I would only miss the NBA basketball.
