When you tell them, you're putting a weight on their shoulders. They're never going to look at you the same way ever again. Every time I think about bringing it up, I stop myself because I know there's no going back once the words have been said. You're always going to be on their mind, and not in the good way--they'll be looking to hospitalize you if you even come into the real risk of ctb'ing. It's just how suicide is stigmatized in the media--and also, of course, they care about you enough to not want to see you go. I feel weird about that last statement because I feel like if a friend told me they were suicidal, I honestly... wouldn't tell them not to do it. It makes me feel like a sociopath sometimes. Suicide is a weird topic for me because I feel like it's such a choice that if my friend was adamant about taking their life, I would respect their choice. Yet, at the same time, it makes me feel like I'm failing them if I let them do it.

It's a hard choice to put on someone's shoulders, and again, the risk of getting hospitalized is not worth it. I'd tell people to do it if they're 100% sure they want to be saved because it can't be taken back after that. It's unfortunate that's how things have to be, but it is what it is. On another note, it doesn't apply to everyone. People here have even said their friends are alright with it, but that's a dime a dozen. Just be aware of the risks if you choose to go down that path. I know it sucks to be alone.

I semi-joke about killing myself with a good friend, but never sound like I'm serious. She does ask how I know about so many methods to kill yourself. I tell her I just like dark content on the internet. She doesn't know about ss.

My best friend, one of the few that don't get pushed away has known because he has attempts etc. he's a tattoo artist and does all my tattoos and we were just talking about it. He is all abut not involving police and ACAB and all tha too, though. Probably helps

I'd still be careful around your friend if I were you. I have talked with some other people I know who are ACAB subscribers and who know that ER visits cost way too much. They claim that they would still call the cops or an ambulance on anyone they cared about if they were immediately about to CTB. When asked if this was a double standard, they responded that "they don't care". Then again, hopefully your friend is different.

Is there anyone that you trust (in real life, not online) to keep your plans to ctb a secret? I personally don't. It saddens me that when I ctb I won't be able to warn anyone ahead of time but I'd rather keep it to myself than risk being found out.

I am very lucky to have one person who has been so wonderful to me over the years, but she knows the suffering and pain i have had and am still in. She was in touch with me when i last attempted and many other times too. She is an extremely warm and empathetic lady. She is obviously not happy about the situation i am in, but fully understands due to having knowledge of my enduring issues. I can speak to this person without judgement, and i am lucky to have that at least.

I think the bulk of people in any given bubble are just apathetic. And this is of course interpreted as being evil.

The smallest things, like if someone doesn't clean up after themselves, fill me me with dread because it reminds me that I'm truely alone. Empathy is effortful.

Yes, and also no. Probably my "imaginary self"- I have created a fictional character and roleplay as them so I can cope with real life. I trust that my "imaginary self" will end me when they (or actually both of us) think it's the right time.

There are people who I love with every fiber of my being, but I know that if I told them about my plans to ctb, they'd do everything in their power to stop me. I guess I'm lucky to know people that love me enough to want me to stay in this hellish existence with them. It's a complicated feeling.

It is slightly lonely knowing that I won't be able to say my goodbyes before I go, but I guess that's what notes are for.
