  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

Right to die should be recognized, and there should be legal, safe, free (or affordable) and accessible method to do so. I can't imagine that any politicians who openly support this because this is political suicide because this is such an unpopular opinion. We had politicians who are unique because of their political stance, so this is why I'm asking this question. Is there any politicians you have in mind who bravely support this publicly?

Even if there are, they will never talk openly about it.
Just like a self-admitted atheist/agnostic will never be a president.

We live in a world in which if you're not religious and pro-life, you just don't deserve to be part of the system.

Fortunately, assisted suicide exists in some countries and might become a worldwide thing some day. I really hope so.

Anyone that's for very relaxed gun laws and simultaneously believes that suicide should not be a crime would kind of fit the bill, tbh.

In my homecountry Germany they discuss 3 forms of assisted suicide. (one is the criminalization)
Karl Lauterbach quite a genius wants to legalize it for many many people together with Katrin Helling-Plahr. I really like both.
However there are these assholes from the christian party. Especially the health secretary Jens Spahn. They want to criminalize it.

Usually medical assistance in dying is a policy of liberal / left governments.
It is comparable with the right to choose an abortion. It's based on autonomy over your own body.

That's why countries who allow assistance in dying enacted these laws during eras when liberal/left governments were (or still are) in charge.

Examples: Germany now and also Canada

It's about empowerment of individuals who are considered competent adults making self-determined decisions.

Many Muslim countries have legalized assisted suicide. The government will even give you a bomb vest to do it

You joke but in all honestly quite a few muslim countries like Iraq and Yemen have VERY easy access to guns, way easier than America even. If one was suicidal and motivated to die, unlike me today, they could buy a gun off some random dealer for 50 dollars and then blow their heads open
