Is there a tutorial for complete dummies on how to tie a rope for hanging?

I'm not talking about how to tie each of the 2 individual knots (one for the ligature (neck) and one for the anchor), I'm talking about how to tie both to the same rope without leaving a giant length of rope inbetween.

The whole thing seems so convoluted to me. Should i have a certain length of rope beforehand or would anything work?

Can you tie both knots separately, for starters? Once you get some practice with them, it should be easier doing it with one rope.

Killing yourself isn't necessarily easy. No pain no gain lol. It's a slipknot and then an arbor knot, if I remember correctly. Idk why you need a two in one tutorial. What length of rope are you looking for in between the knots? What kind of hanging set up are you planning?

If you're creative enough with the wording, you can find a tutorial on YouTube, Tiktok, and I assume other platforms as well. However I think those might just be for typing the noose itself, which you said is not what you're looking for. To be honest I'm not exactly sure what you're looking for

Yes, i can tie both knots individually. My anchor is close to the ground so the length of rope inbetween the knots should be very small. Otherwise the point where the ligature tightens would be too close to the ground.

Yes, i can tie both knots individually. My anchor is close to the ground so the length of rope inbetween the knots should be very small. Otherwise the point where the ligature tightens would be too close to the ground.

I saw a video of someone tying the ligature (noose) the other day (kind of crazy as fuck that the algorithm put it on the feed for my super depressed venting page). I always just assumed that the rest worked by measuring enough length away from the noose to allow you to hang without your feet on the ground, and typing a standard knot at the point of tension where you plan to hang from. But I'm guessing you've looked into it more and found that it's not quite that simple?

I'm not sure what you mean exactly. My bit of rope is pretty long and I just adjust it so there's no slack on it between where its tied to my neck and the anchor. Mine just has a bunch of spare useless rope dangling from the side

I don't have a video but I tried to solve this with a stick and a packing cord on my desk. (Not for hanging just to understand the problem!)
It's not that difficult. Tie the noose on one end, then put the rest of the rope through the anchor hook or over the bar. Then tie a knot there and always pull the long part of the rope through. This way you can adjust the length between anchor and noose.
