I am an atheist. My position is I don't believe there is evidence that supports the existence of either a heaven or hell. That is not to say I am absolutely certain there is none, but you can say that I am as sure of my belief that there is no hell as somebody might be sure there is no such thing as the tooth fairy, the easter bunny, or Santa Clause.

I do not trust websites to send me stuff. And I wouldn't even know how to work that thing

OK. Yeah, you have to do very careful and do your research on the credibility of the vendor. May I ask what your method is ?

So far mixing Xanax, soma and alcohol. However I continue to wake up the next day perfectly fine. I used to do heroin a long time ago. However all my dealers seem to have died, quit or ended up in jail.

Tomorrow is my boyfriends 40th birthday. He died last year in September. My life has slowly gone down hill since his passing. He oded on accident. I cant be that lucky

I am sorry for your loss. I have never done heroin so I wouldn't want to risk it. But it sounds like a good way to go esp. Fentanyl, quick and easy.

That's what really gets me. The world is an ugly place, yes. But it's also an amazing place. Life is hard, yes. But it's also rewarding. It's our minds that put us on a dark path. We destroy ourselves. When we see the ugly instead of the beautiful. When we only see the hard and not the rewards. Some people find themselves in situations they had no control over. Yes. But many make choices and see the world in a way that ends up with them jumping off a bridge. Christ, I'm not even sure there was really a choice. No one chooses to see things in an ugly way. It's just in them. But it's still those dark eyes. I've known insanely positive people in my life. I've been near successful people. And it's their outlook that drives them. An outlook that comes way before the success. Just as a miserable outlook starts way before the CTB. Thanks birth lottery.

I used to believe that there is free choice where certain decisions are made and you bear the consequences. I am not so sure any more, to a very large extent, where you end up in life is dependent on genetics and the things that happened to you where you have absolutely no control over. In hindsight, I believe I could have played my cards dealt better but I would just prolong the inevitable. As such, I have accepted my fate as a complete failure in every aspect of life.

This is what I think about the notion of hell. I think that this idea of hell and the underworld or heaven after death came around from when the very first few humans had near death experiences and were able to communicate these to the living. As if coming back from death and seeing whats on the other side. To them what they experienced was either intensely positive or intensely negative. I'm almost positive these near death experiences are just our chemicals and hormones in our brain going haywire and producing an intense hallucination akin to a psychedelic experience. Anyone with any experience with psychedelics will tell you that your thoughts mood and environment will mold what kind of trip you have. If you are someone who is a generally negative individual or has done things in your life that would be considered morally wrong and you are aware of your actions they can come out in your experience. In these sorts of near death trips they can feel like a lot longer time has passed than what actually has like being in a dream. I think its possible if there is a sort of hell it is one that you put yourself in at the last moments of your life when your brain is shooting its last signals which to you could possibly feel like an eternity in a bad place. I think everything is just a construct of our own minds. some people dont experience anything when they die, lots of people who have died and been brought back have been able to share there experiences for you to review. This all thanks to the wonderful internet, that gives us the ability to share so much information with each other. This is all speculation and theorizing, but something I have been chewing on for a while.

I agree with this. They have found that the brain releases huge amount of DMT ( think Ayahuasca and a strong psychedelic) in the moments immediately preceding death. Thus, if you want a peaceful death, it is important you be in the right mindset in order to avoid a bad trip. Now, I have done Ayahuasca in Peru and I know when I was in a negative mood, I always had a bad trip.

What does the Bible say about death?
The Bible compares death to sleep more than fifty times. After death we are asleep, we are unconscious; we are not aware of the passing of time or of what is going on around us. That is what death is like as well. The Bible says, "for the living know that they will die; but the dead know nothing… their love, their hatred, and their envy have now perished" (Ecclesiastes 9:5, NKJV, see also Psalm 146:4; 115:17). It makes sense that after Lazarus was raised from the dead, he doesn't share what he saw or experienced. He didn't have anything to tell, except that once he was dead, and now he is alive! He didn't experience hell or heaven. He was simply "sleeping" in his tomb. Peter on the Day of Pentecost said the same of King David. "Men and brethren, let me speak freely to you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his tomb is with us to this day…For David did not ascend into the heavens…(Acts 2:29, 34).

The Bible says that all those who have died—both righteous and wicked—will be raised to life in one of two resurrections. The righteous will be raised to life at Jesus' second coming. "For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first" (1 Thessalonians 4:16, NKJV). According to this verse, the righteous do not go to heaven when they die. They remain asleep in the grave until Jesus returns and raises them to immortal life (see 1 Corinthians 15:50-57).

The wicked are raised to life in a separate resurrection—the resurrection of condemnation. Jesus said, "Do not marvel at this; for the hour is coming in which all who are in the graves will hear His voice and come forth—those who have done good, to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of condemnation" (John 5:28, 29, NKJV).

I'm not trying to preach, this is just some of things the bible says about hell.

I respect your religious belief, but how can you verify any of the above?

When discussing the bible with Christians/theists I am always curious to know, how do you know the bible is true?
That's a good question, but how can we know it's not true?
I understand a lot of it sounds far fetched, and a lot of it doesn't make sense, but same as with life, a lot of it is far fetched and doesn't make sense.

You know the worst thing for me about reading the bible from cover to cover is that I went from beleiving that I was going to heaven, to all of a sudden having atheist thoughts and at the same time thinking every one I know is going to hell including myself.
That was such a spycological blow to me.
